Ditka’s passing and all the great stories about him and how awesome he was with everyday people and fans reminds me of how we once lived in a time where your political affiliation wasn’t the first thing people judged you on. Ditka was a big time conservative and the social media era would likely turn him into a villain for that if his prime coaching years happened today. It’s weird as hell for someone that grew up in an era when we didn’t operate that way.
Nick Wright says he wishes the Inside the NBA crew actually enjoyed basketball 👀
“It might be the greatest sports show ever. With that said, I wish it felt like they enjoyed basketball more. Before the Lakers Nuggets game, Chuck saying ‘I hope the Lakers lose’ because he was angry talk shows would take the Lakers seriously. If they’re the 3 seed in the west are people allowed to take them a little serious? Then after the game they win and Austin making that unbelievable play and Luka game winner, and Shaq said ‘good teams don’t need that’ like what are we doing? You see more in the NBA of the guys saying their era was better. You don’t see Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long on Fox NFL pre game being like ‘none of these guys could cut it in the 70s or 80s!”

When he was here, I kept saying Ange mattered more as a leader than as a coach.
In a milquetoast organization, you need a North Star.
Someone with the character to set the agenda and the charisma to make others follow.
Why he succeeded where others failed.

Norm Macdonald “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…. What does that really mean.
I started ruminating about it, and it came to me.
It means you can have sex with a prostitute, and she won’t tell your wife….
They’re very discrete..,, not like these blabber mouth small town whores.”

Prince performing "Purple Rain" in Syracuse (1985)
This is by far one of Prince's greatest performances. There will never be another. This man was a genius.
I try to tell my team all the time not to get caught up in consumer facing images of what another business is doing. You have no idea what’s under the hood of a biz and image and the image of success can be curated!
"One of the things I learned from CBA negations is: They aren't smarter than us...I think we sometimes are victims of having this belief that because these people have made it to the top of their profession that they are as good at what they do as we are at what we do. They aren't....It's a mistake to think that whatever is holding back the union is understanding some complex theories of business or law. That ain't it." – @Foxworth24 goes deep on what changes need to be made within the NFLPA.
Everyone says to watch “Severance”. I refuse. I won’t watch any new streaming TV show until the story is done. Too many recent letdowns (“The Bear”, “Ted Lesso”, “Yellowstone”).
Streaming economics is actually hurting TV quality and I wrote on why here: https://t.co/30IYgEzeHK
Advice gathering is procrastination in disguise. You can read a lot of books and talk to a lot of people, but ultimately, you just have to figure things out for yourself. The answers you seek are found in the actions you avoid.
