Another day and other critical incident in the NHS.
This time it’s unfortunately Cambridge.
Sadly 60 patients are waiting in A&E for beds on wards 🤯
No doctor strikes remember.
A reminder also that this government has cut ~25% bed capacity in the NHS in last 14 years
Ok that didn't work out. But feeling gutted for England isn't like it used to be. Back in the day, they were a packet of nerves and baseless frustrated entitlement. Now, they're brilliant, serious, diligent and unlucky. Much easier to live with.
@Mid_WifeCrisis@susan_bewley@ProfJennyGamble@HealthSenseUK@NICEComms@RCObsGyn All adult "health checks" are useless. Well man, well woman, the lot. Live a few days longer on average if you're lucky, but spend those days & more in an NHS waiting room, queuing for tests or treatment. And worrying. Avoid. Live life. 🙂
It looks like the Battle of #Kyiv is about to begin. When I wrote my @politybooks study on urban warfare last year, pessimistic though I was, I never imagined that the next battle might be so close or so terrible.
