@VolaTim Yeah- big bollocks indeed if you pull this move right before a recession. 17 years of underperformance before recovering if you started in '98
@fundstrat Highly susceptible to start year. If you hit it, great, if you don't, you're tied to the SP
Note: this analysis looks at large cap stocks and a 2 year hold period for longer term gains (can be offset by 1 year hold inside a ROTH or SEP)
@UniqueWarg@gurgavin Agreed- start year, as with almost all of these strategies- matters tremendously (this view looks at a two year hold instead of 1 year)
@nowankski@dulipsam@gurgavin Yeah good point- I assumed baseline American tax rate- so the "earnings" are somewhere between that and the quoted figure as the maximum achievable at 0% tax rate (countries, tax vehicles, etc)
This feels like a fairly easy algorithmic trading approach to attach to a vehicle
@nowankski@gurgavin This is my issue. He's calculating gains on a new stock which implies you're selling all of last years and taking the 35% hit. Still high, likely, but the accurate return would be net of taxes against holding the SP only
@Kanthaswam80359 In 2000- the Indian/South Asian population of Frisco was 2%- no big deal right?
In 2026- the Indian population of Frisco, Tx is now 33-36%
The ISSUE- beyond the 1:1 wage displacement, is the vast cultural displacement by temporary workers bringing large family/clan units
@JakeMarsh18 Fuck yes Jake. No matter what- all the pressure of Barstool- you stuck to your personality, adapted, but never lost it, and took the next step when you needed. Very cool!
@oliviabrxtn @luvLiLLi3 This doesn’t math. If you have 100 acres, you can reasonably plant about 5,000-10,000 trees assuming some row spacing for harvesting and spacing between trees to reach a reasonable height.
