China added over 543 Gigawatts to their grid last year. 434 GW was renewables because they are faster to build. The U.S. added a paltry 53 GW. We are losing the “AI race” to China because these idiots hate green energy. This is suicide by stupid.
@Timodc Yes, this was the most important outcome of Rubio’s first trip as secretary of state. We mentioned his CECOT deal with Bukele in several @nytimes stories, including in this investigative piece that probed Trump’s entire Venezuela strategy of last year: https://t.co/SO3ernKJBY
Kyiv deadly attacks:
Dec. 29, 2023 — 33 killed.
July 8, 2024 — 33 killed.
June 17, 2025 — 14 killed.
💔 Today — 25 killed. The death toll will likely rise.
Once again, the world looks away.
Your indifference enables russia to keep killing Ukrainians.
Remember that. Forever.
In the past hour, the Trump admin has deleted their web page that recommended setting thermostats between 75-78 during heat waves, and 85 if you are not home, after the GOP learned that Mayor Mamdani was urging New Yorkers to follow White House guidance.
The homes of innocent civilians in a European capital, bombarded by advanced military weaponry day and night by the Russian terrorist state. Europe watches and offers minimal support and many words while Ukrainians defend them and die.
Brutal from @WSJ Ed Board. “Foreigners may come to think they can buy American goodwill or favors if they cut the Trumps in on the action. Americans, and especially his supporters, deserve better from this or any President.” https://t.co/ROyBfzaLM0
Ted Cruz in 2011, before he felt the need to pander to the xenophobic right: "The 14th Amendment provides for birthright citizenship. I’ve looked at the legal arguments against it, and I will tell you, as a Supreme Court litigator, those arguments are not very good. As much as someone may dislike the policy of birthright citizenship, it’s in the Constitution."
Overnight Russian attack on Kyiv update: The death toll has risen to 18‼️ Another 85 people have been injured, including 2 children.
Bastards. Fucking terrorists.
A prominent white-collar defense attorney told The Atlantic what the going rate is: two million dollars, you can have a pardon. Clients are being told to hire a specific person and then they will get it. The specific person collects the fee. The client gets the paperwork.
The formal process, the one that runs through the DOJ's Office of the Pardon Attorney, has been largely replaced by an informal network of intermediaries who charge for access. Liz Oyer, who held that pardon attorney role under Biden and into the early months of this term before being removed, described what replaced it as the Hunger Games.
The White House press secretary responded by saying Trump finds it detestable that anyone would profit off pardons. That statement appeared in the same article documenting a $1 to $2 million informal market for pardon access that is operating openly enough that one attorney called it general knowledge in the practice. Detestable is an interesting word for something that is currently listed at a market price.
ICE walked into the lobby of a mom-and-pop home improvement store in California.
No warrant.
The owner opened https://t.co/du9bv2U4pY, stayed calm, and held the line.
She legally refused ICE access to the back rooms and employee-only spaces.
ICE waited in the lobby.
They refused to leave.
So she closed the business, turned off the lights, and stood by the front door.
“Our business is closed to the public. We are asking all visitors to leave.”
Customers left.
Eventually, ICE left too.
An hour later, when they were gone, she reopened.
A free citizen.
A business owner.
A lawful refusal.
This is why PAXIS exists.
Help get it into the hands of immigrants and allies across the USA: https://t.co/Txyhf9LSil
When I was Ethics Czar, we decided Obama wouldn't even refinance his house to save a few hundred dollars -- & lobbyists couldn't gift us a PENCIL!
Trump is monetizing the presidency for BILLIONS
The American people won't stand for it
I discussed with @andersoncooper
Donald Trump declared making more than 22,000 stock transactions in 2025, according to the FT analysis. His immediate predecessor, Joe Biden, made 13 transactions over four years. In his first term, Trump made 517. https://t.co/mWDvtvAllj
