@guardian "I went on a Princess Cruise, and all I got to show for it was this lousy (teeshirt)... I mean virus." They're a safe investment. They make a killing.
@BigVapingNunga @traverselife@GregJord@drlizzieskinner@roseg You know people obsess with hand sanitiser and sanitising shopping trolleys etc. In a confined area with covid particles in the air, the two main mechanisms of infection are by inhalation and via the eyes. Goggles anyone?
@BigVapingNunga @traverselife@GregJord@drlizzieskinner@roseg If we didn't have so many fake N95 masks flooding the market, they wouldn't have to worry about it. You can blame China for that. Hospitals have to maintain standards.
@drlizzieskinner What does a 15% positive rate even mean when most tests are RAT tests, but only positive RAT tests are reported? - also PCR tests are mostly for hospital admissions which also results in a positive bias.
I agree with your recommendations though.
@DarrenBeale2@qldhealth Should always track on 7 day averages. According to the latest projection, we're at the peak in Australia. Numbers are dropping rapidly elsewhere.

@PaulineHansonOz I hope you won't drop dead, but if you end up with long Covid and the associated cognitive impairment, will anyone actually notice the difference?
@alexleigh68@qldhealth It's actually 37.9% of the 16+ population. It's the lowest rate in Australia, which makes sense because Queensland is the most regionalised state. The highest is the ACT at 53.1%. No surprises there. Don't conflate Federal policy with State policy.
@Leibn1Professor@jaraparilla@qldhealth In the case of Australia, that's not reflected in excess mortality. The economy of the US and the UK suffered much more than that of Australia, despite the lockdowns. Mental health is another thing. It's easy to criticise in retrospect though.
@TheShovel I'd be a little worried if a senior politician answered this stupid question. Sure Helgas is about $3.90 on special and supermarket bread varies from about $2 upwards. Do you want wholemeal, pana di casa or sourdough ?
@RBH58@Thereisnospace1@qldhealth I can see both sides of the argument. The carrot and stick approach. We need something omicron specific that prevents transmission. Of course omicron might be a thing of the past by then. Vaccines are always one step (or more) behind variants.
@theysayitsrare Your minority is unconvinced? 10.4 billion doses administered worldwide. The US has 63% fully vaxxed, mostly recent. The US lost almost a million people to Covid. Australia 3706 deaths. 84% vaxxed. Huge excess morbidity where less people vaxxed. Then there's long Covid.
