People talk about water having an imprinted memory of where it's ever been and what it's been used for. More than likely accurate. Soil also obviously has an imprinted memory stretching deep into antiquity. As go our soils, so go our souls. Take care of the ground, be grateful.
Glyphosate is NOT safe when used correctly. Pesticides are at the base of the chronic disease epidemic. We need an immediate pivot and large investment in regen ag to get farmers off of the pesticide treadmill. They are on the front lines and pay the biggest price with health!
A federal judge called @Bayer's proposed Roundup settlement a "filthy" deal.
Our Editor-in-Chief @careygillam spoke with attorney Whitney Di Bona from @DrugWatch about a flurry of recent legal maneuvers in the case.
Imagine seeing a beat down so epic like what happened in Iowa this week, where an entire farming state that has the highest rates of cancer in the WORLD due to pesticides elects an anti-pesticide farmer, and our USDA director chooses to publicly defend foreign chem companies and liability shields. Some weeds in our federal agencies need pulling.
It is certainly a choice, after the disasterous executive order on glyphosate, to have more federal agencies defending the use of this dangerous pesticide only a few months out from midterms. The VERY point of MAHA, and the reason it exploded like wildfire amongst voters, is because we were sick of corruption taking advantage of people’s health and it reached a boiling point. TENS OF BILLIONS of dollars being spent in litigation of cancer settlements means GLYPHOSATE IS NOT SAFE. If we want this presidential administration to be known for MAHA we cannot have people in the USDA and EPA directly subverting the president’s orders to make America healthy again. Get these people out.
If glyphosate is so safe, why do pesticide companies need special protection from being sued? Rollins keeps dodging because the answer sounds awful. Farmers need support, but that doesn’t mean chemical companies get a free pass when people get sick. Funny how “accountability” disappears around donors.
McGOVERN: Do you believe pesticide companies deserve liability protection?
BROOKE ROLLINS: We cannot destroy our framers' ability to plant
McGOVERN: So even though you say glyphosate is safe, you believe they should have some sort of liability protection?
@yoalexrapz People are done being poisoned. The blinders are coming off and everyone is realizing that pesticides and herbicides like glyphosate are actually toxic and cause cancer, infertility and developmental harm to babies.
Get a load of this.
Secretary Rollins just said “glyphosate is safe” … really? The cancer-causing chemical that Bayer has literally spent BILLIONS on fighting and settling lawsuits is “safe”?
Thank you @RepMcGovern for holding her feet to the fire on this.
“Iowa’s public health crisis is a harbinger of what is to come, should lawmakers continue to allow factory farms and industrial agriculture to pollute our water and environment with impunity,” said Michaelyn Mankel, a senior organizer with @foodandwater.

“Right now, we’re really at an inflection point in Iowa. We have a human health crisis,” said Iowa farmer Sharon Krause.
Krause and others are funding a new @uiowa research project into the Iowa health crisis.

The pesticide industry’s new pitch:
“Sure, we might be spraying your food with chemicals linked to thousands of lawsuits, but have you considered the price of cereal?”
Americans are waking up to glyphosate. Congress is rejecting chemical liability shields. We’re electing anti-Big Ag candidates in farm country. So now Big Chemical is running fear ads about grocery prices.
What they won’t mention is that while pesticides may lower the cost of some ultra-processed foods (only because of subsidies, and which we shouldn’t be eating anyways), they will raise the cost of cancer bills. But Big Ag doesn’t want to pay those either. Which is why they continue to push pesticide liability shields in every state and on the federal level despite over $16 billion in cancer settlements.
Health Canada said this controversial pesticide is safe. Behind the scenes, the agency has ramped up its monitoring of #glyphosate. Critics are hopeful that continuous oversight monitoring will lead to a special review or a more comprehensive re-evaluation https://t.co/z2DBrOJc1x
Donald Trump is going to live to 101 years old and the day he passes Jimmy Carter as "oldest president", he's gonna make some backhanded asshole comment about Carter and it's going to be funny as hell
