Still working on getting it to the main feed, but if you love us specifically gettin' angry about roleplaying games, then the episode we just put up on the Patreon feed featuring the rules of Orkworld is what you were waiting for.
everything we need is astronomically expensive and yet almost none of the money we pay is going towards the people actually doing the work and providing the services.
@swoonganz A baked product without fat and sugar? This marvelous thing you require is called bread. Not sure your kid is going to be as excited about bread as they are about cookies, though.
I haven't checked in to this site in a bit. If you're following me for updates on what I'm working on, it's lately been monsters. Making monster statblocks for Strike! 2e. More monsters is one of the most common requests for 2e, and I'm making a whole bunch!
@DragonCobolt I'm always saying this! When people talk about a d20 being "swingy" and using dice pools to get a "bell curve"... No! As long as your system is binary pass/fail, you will never get a bell curve. You can only get Bernoulli distributions. (Looks like a bar chart with 2 bars.)
I BEAT CANCER!
But thanks to US health care, even with insurance, that still leaves me with huge medical bills.
So, once again, the community is coming together to help. The Beacons Are Lit bundle has more than $1200 of game products for $29.95.

I've been enjoying my time away from Twitter. I miss the posts about games and stuff, but I feel so much better not getting sucked into doomscrolling. I'm dipping back here to try to catch up on the folks I follow. I'll pop in again with some updates on my writing at some point.
@robinhanson Board game winners always know what gets them victory points and how to be efficient.
Working your butt off to accumulate way more $$ than you need for your happiness is the opposite: it's inefficient. You can't take it with you!
@satchelmaloney@MelissaAmaya32 And sometimes there's a little conflict. She will be like "how could you leave this gross thing here?" And I will be like "I was cleaning all the gross things in the kitchen."
Simple fact is that with kids it's hard or impossible to keep up with everything. (Depends on the kids)
@satchelmaloney@MelissaAmaya32 I don't want to generalize, but for me and my wife, the difference is in how we group tasks.
She will zig-zag through every room in the house, cleaning the items that are the highest priority in her field of view at any moment.
I will clean an entire area, like the kitchen.
@OisinDuffy15 To clarify, because I have read the replies and people are being weirdos:
I think what they did sounds like a fun session and as a GM I would be using my knowledge of history and materialism as part of creating fun obstacles. Having some (but not too much) realism makes it fun.
@OisinDuffy15 I think some limited amount of realism has to be part of the appeal here, though. If they wanted to lean on the unrealism of D&D, they could just cast detect evil until they found a good person and make them king/queen.
@Sheepladdev Some people fall in the middle, but others fall squarely on one side or the other.
When you say "everyone needs to socialize" that doesn't mean they aren't still introverts! The idea that an introvert is someone who never needs to socialize is just some shit you made up.
@Sheepladdev Introvert/extravert is one of the small number of consistent personality traits with a lot of very strong evidence and rigorous science backing it up.
I've seen you arguing in the comments, and you are just wrong on that one. You're right about the others!
