1 in 3 asylum seekers to Ireland are now single men from Somalia.
There are 3,400 Somalians in the Asylum system, mostly single men.
By 2030, on current trajectory, there will be ~24k Somalian asylum seekers.
Thats almost the population of Naas.
What’s the plan here lads ??
Dear @SimonHarrisTD and @MichealMartinTD. Today your Minister Patrick O'Donovan said today that it was his department's role with Coimisiún na Meán to make sure that people don't get their news from people who thrive on the advent of fake news, but rather from trusted sources, including our public service broadcaster.
I was wondering if you could give me a list of trusted news sources? Does such an approved list exist? Have you consulted the Bishops on this because I feel like I’ve woken up in 1965. Perhaps I should get on O’Brien over there at the Ministry for Truth.
Is there also a list of approved books on there? Is Country Girls still considered to hot to handle? I have been watching Rivals on the old Disney Channel, I hope that ok?
Am I allowed watch Fox News? Or CNN? Or the BBC? Also I sometimes like to watch those “Podcasts” but I assume you have a long list of Podcasts that are dangerous to know.
Please help, I need your guidance.
Imagine being outraged that people who are illegally in your country are not allowed to get free houses paid for by the taxpayer.
Thats how far we have gone.
Any TDs from Dublin West at Alex Coughlan’s silent vigil in Blanchardstown yesterday?
I counted three at Yves Sakila’s gathering, and I’m sure those who attended appreciated the gesture.
It feels like we are becoming increasingly desensitised and have lost our outrage.
There’s no special interest group incentivized outpouring of grief over this death.

Not been the greatest week of my life but how gratifying to find out that RTE knows that Gript Media, or I, exist, having spent seven years studiously refusing to acknowledge our existence.
Ireland isn’t awful. There are lots of positive things about living here. And our quality of life is as high—if not higher—than many other European countries. But I don’t think any other country would have squandered c. €50 billion in excess corporation tax the way we have.
Broken hearted to see this. Looks like some elements of the Irish Army have indeed been deployed by the political class that has treated the Defence Forces so appallingly for decades. A deep shame on all those involved, you are a disgrace. #FuelProtest
From the same govt that pushed through emergency legislation to exempt IPAS centres from planning permission. You'd know all about lawless.

I would trade a few days or weeks of inconvenience for lower fuel taxes in the long term. I would make that trade in a heartbeat. I don't know why so many others would not.
More than 24 hours later this story is still one of the headlines on @rtenews app.
Meanwhile the story about the two sisters stabbed after rejecting the advances of the mystery Somalian was gone after less than eight hours and never appeared on their X feed.
When the planning laws that work for everything don't work for your agenda; just ban the ability to object (that is a right in every other circumstance).
People have been clear.
Cost of living and housing are the two biggest pressures facing families.
Yet Oireachtas debates show sustained focus on international issues across dozens of sessions.
This is not about ignoring global affairs. It is about getting priorities right.
People need delivery.

What a load of shite - Wexford deserved to win that.
Down played down the last 3 mins and then ballooned it wide
For me Down do too much talking about their ambitions and Sam Maguire football etc
They are a middle of the road team, no different to wexford, Offaly, Kildare, Sligo or Westmeath
