Just got turned away from @GiantFood at 1400 7th St NW b/c of new policy prohibiting customers w/backpacks. @MayorBowser, I thought DC promoted car free living. We provide @wmata & @DCCirculator service to this location, but now commuters headed home w/backpacks can’t stop in?
@HockeyTarheel@GiantFood@MayorBowser@wmata@DCCirculator I know. But @MayorBowser is head of a government that I imagine provides various incentives (favorable tax treatment, etc.) to @GiantFood to stay in DC. If they’re going to operate in a manner hostile to so many DC policy goals, maybe DC’s elected leaders should reconsider.
@jefflynw4646@GiantFood@MayorBowser@wmata@DCCirculator They weren’t offering that as an option. And I’m not sure they would be very practical. Will they let me in if I say I’m going to the service desk? Wouldn’t the would-be shoplifters be willing to lie about going to the service desk?
How many policies, tax preferences, etc. does DC have for @GiantFood and similar stores? If Giant and others are pushing people to drive or forego trips altogether (costing DC tax $$), are these incentives really the best use of DC’s limited resources going forward?
I understand suspicious charges. But suspicious PAYMENTS even after they’ve received funds?!? Plus refusing to connect me to anyone who can explain this “suspicion” or how I can clear it up?!? Seems like a scam. If you’re looking for a new credit card, definitely avoid @Chase.
Another month, another frustrating call with @Chase customer “service.” Once again they’ve placed a “hold” on my credit card payment, can’t tell me why, and just babble word salad about how it’s “suspicious” that I paid the card off. Feels like a scam to make me carry a balance.
@Chase@SouthwestAir The employees on the phone seemed to see the absurdity. But their @Chase script just prompted them to say “unusual amount” (ie, not - to the penny - the same exact amount paid in a prior payment) and “verification” over and over. Nothing else they could do, they said.
Gotta love corporate greed. Just got off the phone w/@Chase. I was informed that, although my credit card balance is $0 (ie, well below credit limit), w/$0 pending transactions, that I will have $0 available credit thru Jan 16 for “verification” of payment that already went thru.
@Chase Bottom line: if you want a reliable card to set up auto payments and earn rewards, DO NOT sign up for @Chase@SouthwestAir card. They cut it off randomly if you earn too many miles/your balance is too low. Result is declined payments even when you’re well below limit!
Using free-floating carshare in DC used to work really well, especially before car2go left. Maybe @DDOTDC can recruit a competitor to replace @Free2Move. I know I’d sign up with them immediately!
What’s with the deteriorating @Free2Move service in DC? Seems like every time I try to use it there’s a problem. I say “try to” because today, and a few other times recently, when I’ve arrived at the spot indicated in the app. the car simply hasn’t been there!
