@hotgirlfront Sorry gaslighting doesn’t work here when we can all clearly see with our own two eyes. If I were you I’d wait to see what lie Hasan spins off of this and go with that.
This is an extremely disturbing study.
According to new research reported here, the probability of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) collapsing due to climate change is much higher than previously believed.
One author said: "We found that (on our current policy trajectory) the tipping point where the shutdown becomes inevitable is probably in the next 10 to 20 years or so." AMOC collapse would then follow by 50-100 years.
The AMOC is what brings warm water from the equator up to the west coast of Europe, keeping that region warm and wet, and circulates cold water from the Arctic down south.
AMOC collapse would cause dramatic cooling in Europe, particularly in Britain and Ireland, France and the Nordic countries, with average temperatures dropping by up to 8C. Icy.
Studies have found this would have a dramatic negative impact on agriculture in Britain. In the USA, it would cause higher sea level rise on the east coast.
The research on this is striking because so far the negative impacts of climate breakdown have affected the global South more than the global North. This may be one reason that Northern governments have been slow to respond. But AMOC collapse changes this calculus.
We can still avoid this risk, but it requires rapid emissions reductions, much faster than governments are presently planning to achieve. It will require strong public finance mechanisms and public works, to overcome the inertia of capital, and will require degrowing unnecessary forms of production.

Even if she denies that what she said was intentionally anti-Semitic she cannot ignore the literally thousands of blatantly deeply anti-Semitic responses it has gotten.
She nailed the dog whistle; plausible deniability while not saying a word against the people that heard it.
I’m been urged to offer a response to the backlash over my mockery of billionaire Larry Ellison, who recently bragged about his role in building a dystopian surveillance state where we’re all monitored and on our “best behavior.”
My portrayal of him as a villain was accurate. I offer no apology.
Imagine someone was accused of beating their wife so you posted pictures of the abuser and victim together smiling. Like look they clearly can’t be an abuser cause they are happy in this picture.
@transgoyim@washghost1 I do not understand why the fact that a zipper merge NEVER EVER WORKS IN REAL LIFE has no effect on the people that promote it. Okay in some mathematical simulation it’s the most efficient; so what???!? People do not and will never behave that way so it is obviously idiotic.
@caitoz Please continue to publically endorse and promote active designated terrorists groups. I’m sure the government already has your name on a list, excited to see what’s next.
There is so little evidence for God that when some provides evidence as useless as “it feels like it to me” it’s seen by believers as staggering resistance against atheism lol
Bill Maher faces surprise resistance to atheism as his guest shares why he believes in a higher power.
MAHER: “I’m not one of those touchy-feely guys. I’m an atheist. I don’t believe in religion.”
YUNGBLUD: “I don’t know, man… The amount of magic that I come across or feel… when you step outside in front of 20,000 people — I just think it can’t be just that’s just it. Something, somewhere, there’s a higher power. That’s what I think. I think I’ve seen too much love and magic and unexplainable [things].”
By the end of it, Maher might not have been convinced to believe in God, but you could tell he was taking a hard second look at his own beliefs.
