@designedbyabin Years ago, I had just assumed that Microsoft had a special classroom where they would sit down a bunch of un-tech savvy people and then watch them interact with their software, and then one day I realized OMG, they don't do any of that.
@microsoft@outlook I love you guys but it's as if you have never designed an interface before or don't really rely on contacts like a LOT OF US DO.
Notes in a separate section, phone defaults to work instead of mobile wasted space all over the initial screen, sometimes you really deserve the criticism. Just awful really.
@tomwarren Used to love the Ballmer keynotes but I have to replay what Satya just said in a Keynote and try to figure out what he just said and how it applies to us (Windows Users), and then I feel like I've been over promised and under delivered. I'll be watching on Monday.
For me it's all about low power, high performance, REALLY LONG battery life, and I don't give a crap about gaming, I sit on the couch for that stuff.
Maybe this addresses all that and gaming and I really look forward to your comments once we know what's going on, not a fan of teases, I think if your gonna tease you should under promise and over deliver and deliver on announcement day.
I still think the image of Ballmer holding the Surface is iconic, I mean I am on my 11th one, and they have all been great except RT, GO, and 3. Fantastic devices, for those of us that ain't ever going Mac, like ever.
All of my customers ask me "why doesn't this thing with a manual?" At the very LEAST, CoPilot should be the best help section for every piece of software in the world.
One that doesn't require you to call a phone # and get tossed into a conversation loop with an entity you cannot understand. It could easily be trained to never get a wrong answer if it was actually trained on the version of software you were using, and not to wander off to the internet to comb through other peoples answers.
It's never too late to get this right. Someone up at Microsoft needs to realize that small business for them means 10,000 employees, but small business for Mainstreet means 1-5.
When I click that button, I ought to be able to also ask it how to do stuff in Outlook, like help me? NOPE.
But when I click the actual HELP button, I have to read how to get help in an age where we are having full on conversation with AI, that is a gigantic, missed opportunity.
Windows is full of that, Grok knows more about Windows issues than CoPilot, WTF is going on here?
@tomwarren Love this guy, but Microsoft has failed its consumer market. I love Windows I'm a fan I admit it, but there have been a lot of consumer slaps across the face over the years. It's never too late to grab hold of an opportunity instead of missing it.
@zacbowden I help folks that are not good with tech all day long. Not a single day goes by that I tell someone to click the Start Button, and they don't know what I am talking about.
You say "you can't fix stupid" I say it's elderly abuse. Just asking for the OPTION to put it there.
@Microsoft@Outlook I can post this screenshot into ANY AI and they will ALL come back and tell me this email is a scam, so shouldn't we expect the same from the @outlook mail filter? Please DO BETTER, why is this hard at least let us in on the technical issues as to why this is so hard!
So @microsoft@outlook this just came into my INBOX. I help neophyte users with this crap all day long, because most of them fall for it because they are not savvy and because IT COMES INTO THE INBOX. It then takes me to that handy screen next.
@zacbowden Neowin, Winrumours, they had/have a big fanbase, especially back in those days... They clearly do not give a shit about the fanbase or they would bring back those wonderful shows introducing new Windows versions and devices. At least @JenMsft gives a shit about us. 😁
