@TheEXECUTlONER_ Out. He planted and turned slightly toward 2nd. Thats all it takes. They are taught to run straight through and turn to the right to avoid any confusion. Even if he has finished running. Just turn right and walk back to the base. If he follows that rule he is safe.
@ProfessorShakey@grantmcauley All good, my friend. I’m never hear to argue. It just isn’t worth it. But to clarify, I was mentioning he had the last two no hitters. Didn’t mention a year so I give you props for knowing the year. I personally liked Avery better as well. Mercker just often gets over looked.
@RangerApologist This is a joke, right? Atlanta fans never suffering a day in their lives? Try cheering for this team in the 80’s. And then try cheering for a team that won 15 straight division titles but only one series. We suffered for a very long time. And some of us never stopped cheering.
@ourtradingcards You are a joke. I didn’t say you called them bad. You said they are over rated and they aren’t. My comment is based in facts. You are just a jerk looking for clicks and sadly I fell for your bait. I’m done. Now, class is dismissed. Do your homework next time.
@ourtradingcards@nut_history Little boy? Let’s make it personal. You are losing the discussion just by trying to rage bait me. I am far from little. Your character is showing and it just proves my point. You don’t like them so you are just trying to spark a fight. Grow up!
@ourtradingcards@nut_history Nothing to get. They were both great players. Neither over rated. Not even close. Their stats alone crush that conversation. Which is why it sounds personal. Not liking a player doesn’t mean they are universally over rated. Means your opinion is not based in fact.
@nut_history@clantro417 Saying it before X was created doesn’t make it true. You can not like them. But that doesn’t take away their greatness. Facts. Thes are two of the greatest to ever play the game. 5,000 K’s and SEVEN no-hitters is not overrated. 4,000 hits and TEN 200 hit seasons isn’t either.
@BBGreatMoments Unwritten baseball rule - absolutely not ok. But what’s wrong with trying to win a game? And the defense is part of a no hitter so you better be on your toes for each batter. Especially when the hitter is known for being an excellent bunter.
@nut_history Dirty. Even back in the day… but it was expected, so overlooked. Especially at 2nd. But this is flat out dirty. Never hinted at trying to even touch the base.
@Ecnerwal23 Same as calling a strike that barely grazed the plate. Nothing clear hear at all. Other than the player trying to frame it foul. Which only hurt him. If it’s touching the chalk at all it is fair. Again no different than a catcher trying to frame a ball a strike. Still a ball.
