If you're wondering about the bandages on my nose, they are there because my doctor wanted to make sure a new spot on my face was nothing sinister. I'm happy to say the tests came back cancer clear. Make sure you #getaskincheck regularly.. better to be safe than sorry.

It’s been a tough week, and I’m thankful to be back home by the river. The garden is spectacular, particularly the row of crab apple blossom. Enjoy your weekend.

Dylan has turned 12, and there’ll be parties all week. He already had one cake yesterday.. today’s is the second, with his cousin Rosie. Another big one on the weekend. We have plenty to celebrate. Do you think we spoil him?? … Absolutely.

We lost a good man this week. Angry Anderson sang from his heart with power and conviction. But don’t let that tough outside fool you. He was a caring soul who loved his family, cared for his friends and stood up for the downtrodden. As a Rock’n’nroll singer, he was as good as it gets. He took my son @iamjackiebarnes under his wing and they tore it up together.

Rock in Peace my dear friend.

John Farnham and I first sang When Something Is Wrong With My Baby together back in 1991. It was such a pleasure to perform it again on Sunday night, this time alongside my daughter @mahaliabarnes and Diesel Music, celebrating my good friend John and supporting a great cause.

So proud of Ruby Rodgers having fun and being part of such a huge night celebrating John Farnham, in support of Head and Neck Cancer Australia.

What an incredible night celebrating #TheSongsOfJohnFarnham. Congratulations to the Farnham family for putting together such a special show.

Check out this photo of @iamjackiebarnes’ boy, Kai. The other pic is of me at the same age. Where do those ears come from?

James and James. Young James Farnham doing a fantastic job putting together Sundays concert for his dad. I’m thrilled to be a part of #thesongsofjohnfarnham

Our Ruby turns 17 tomorrow but we’ve started celebrating tonight. We’re in Melbourne for the ‘Songs of John Farnham’ concert this weekend. It’s an honour for us all to be a part of it. Happy birthday week Ruby.

My granddaughter Ruby Rodgers’ next single from her forthcoming EP is out tomorrow. It’s such a great song, and you can pre-save it now, here:

Looking forward to celebrating the musical legacy of one of Australia’s great voices this weekend… my pal John Farnham.

For anyone who wasn’t able to score a ticket to the show, HOYTS cinemas around the country will be screening it live, so check your local cinema and tune in on the big screen.

John has chosen Head and Neck Cancer Australia as the concert’s charity beneficiary. Visit https://t.co/l8A0k4Ai2C to leave a message of support and make a donation for people affected by Head and Neck Cancer.

Hope you’ve all had a good start to the week. Nice to be home with my girl.. thought we’d share this song we did together a few years back.

Cake, tea and watching tv… my kinda Sunday. Hope you’ve all enjoyed this beautiful day.

Getting to work with Onefour for triple j‘s like a version was a lot of fun. These guys are the real deal. Honest and passionate about their work. It’s always an honour to sing with people who are proud of where they come from and the gifts their life has given them. We were all happy to be working with Jessica Mauboy. A beautiful singer and a fantastic human.

The blossoms are powering, and it looks like we’ll have plenty of plums, peaches, and pears this year. The cumquats are ready to pick, so Jane will be busy making jam.

[Jimmy Barnes @JimmyBarnes]

.@ellymaybarnes has had a tough year with chronic pain. She’s turned a big corner and it’s great to have her back in the pool with us. We had to swim extra laps today because of Jane’s Southern fried chicken.

We’re gearing up to do some more rock shows at the back end of this year. We’ll be at Sounds Of Rock in Townsville and the Moto GP in Phillip Island next month (October), then onto One Electric Day in Werribee in November, before we head over to Perth for a huge outdoor rock show to kick off the first weekend of Summer.

Here’s a live recording of Flesh & Blood from a few years back. Can’t wait to get back out on the road.

Leftover Father’s Day lamb stew. Very Scottish and favourite of mine of course. Wish my mate Sam Neill was here to share it with us. He would argue that it was Irish.
