Despite company rules telling staff not to intervene, he did what any decent person would do.

Now he’s out of a job.

And it’s not just Waitrose.

The Co-op has told its own staff they will be sacked on the spot for “laying a finger” on shoplifters, even as thieves brazenly raid shelves in broad daylight.

After 17 years of loyal service, this veteran worker is thrown on the scrapheap while the supermarkets protect the criminals instead of their own people.
