Father with a Biblical worldview. I love talking about film, theology, history, and politics. I also love sarcasm. Proud Florida man. Abortion is murder.
Dear leftists: if a book is removed from a school library for adult content, it isn’t banned; it’s rather kept away from those too young to read it.
Calling it is a book ban is like saying R rated movies are banned.
Get your hearts checked, folks. Especially if you’re over 40. Throw in a colonoscopy while you’re at it. Don’t be stupid and die from a disease that’s preventable and treatable if you catch it in time.
If you’re overweight, now is the perfect time to get healthy. If you’re sedentary, now is the perfect time to get active. If you’re an addict, now is the perfect time to get clean.
And if you’re aimless and feel like something is missing in your life, now is the perfect time to accept Christ.
My father never accepted Yoshi's addition to the Mario series only ever referring to him as "The Serpent". "The Serpent is at best a tool not a character", he'd say. One Christmas I asked for Yoshi's Story and instead received a bible. "The Serpent's story is in there", he said
@gracetoyou I remember my dad listening to tapes of John MacArthur over 30 years ago and then rediscovering his preaching for myself as a young adult. His ministry has been with me for decades and it’s been such a blessing.
250 years ago, on July 2nd, 1776, the Second Continental Congress voted to declare independence from Great Britain.
John Adams wrote to his wife the next day:
“The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America.—I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”
Well, not quite.
On July 4th, the delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence — and that has been the day for celebrations ever since.
Woke Christians: “When a black person is talking, white people need to sit down, shut up, and listen. Do the work. Be the bridge.”
Clarence Thomas: “Birthright citizenship is unconstitutional, the decision upholding it is a disaster, and I agree with Thomas Aquinas that foreigners shouldn’t be allowed citizenship too soon or they will meddle with our affairs and hurt our people.”
Woke Christians: “Not like that!”
David French has two standards:
He will not judge the Christian theology of leftists such as James Talarico, even if they are Gnostic and heretical.
He will happily judge the Christianity of Trump supporters.
I do not judge his faith. But I do point out that the money that funds him, also rewards this direction.
@megbasham I've been reading the excellent book The American Story by David and Tim Barton and the stories of the Pastors who stood up to Britain are encouraging and such a stark contrast to a lot of what we see today.
