I have told @GavinWilliamson that his simplistic belief in the power of exams is misguided. Exams have an important place in a balanced assessment process, alongside project work and, where appropriate, practical skills assessment. Long term reform of our exams system is needed.
Getting to University from a state school changed my life. I'm beyond gutted that that opportunity is being snatched away from a generation of talented kids. My support and respect to kids and parents affected this year.
