Mass-generating PRs with your agents and clawbots isn't helping open source. It's quietly burning out the people who actually maintain it.
Please stop.
Alright interns, we need to have some real talk here
I am tired of vibing on stream. I dont really like vibe coding unless its a tool i have no desire to build (how i manage things on my stream / how i write my youtube videos are great examples of things i would never build but i have). I dont like vibing the things i care about. I hate the code it generates, i hate the feeling of getting everything i ask for and nothing i want. I hate the subtle offness around vibe coded things. It is just driving me nuts. So for the next while i am going to be done vibing on stream.
I genuinely have been trying my hardest to make this work and i cannot quite put a finger on why i hate it, but i do. And i just feel so horribly guilty and wrong because i am not getting the results of "everyone else on twitter."
How am i, someone who prides themselves on making youtube videos that i think are actually good for people. To make videos that help people laugh at the silliness of tech or learn something new. But here i am not able to keep up with all these people claiming the sky is literally coming down. I just feel horrible and guilty about it.
Now i know the world is changing fast, and i want to be able to understand that change super well, be able to talk about it, be able to give really accurate opinions about it so for the last 3 months i have vibe coded an absurd amount of things. But now... i am just tired of it.
I dont want this any more. I want to be a tradcoder.
I dont know why i told everyone this, but i just have this growing sickness that is just eating me alive around vibing and i dont know how to express it.
You all are fired,

"I feel like the industry [...] it's trying to pretend that this [Current AI] is amazing. And it's not—it's slop"
A big difference between Tanstack Query and Tanstack DB:
Tanstack Query is pessimistic by default. It updates the UI *after* an async write completes. Safe, but slow.
Tanstack DB is optimistic by default. It updates the UI *before* the async write completes. Risky, but fast.
in Tanstack Query, optimistic UI is possible, but requires a *lot* of boilerplate.
In Tanstack DB, optimistic UI is automatic, and failures roll the UI back to the previous value.
Warner Brothers has closed three studios. One of them is Monolith Productions, to whom I have many memories of my youth, especially of their games BLOOD and FEAR. It's sad, of course, but it's good to ask the question: Do companies make games (and any art, for that matter), or do people?
Because if you look at the credits of the aforementioned classics, you'll find that none of the original creators were currently working at Monolith anymore. Even the main faces of their last big game, Shadow of Mordor, have been with other companies for a few years now.
So what is a company? Can company create and carry creative potential, or is it just a logo stuck on some community of people? And if over time the same logo is stuck on two groups of completely different people, is it still the same company? I dont think so. I believe that people do make art. I watch Steven Spielberg movies, not Warner movies. Lucas Film more or less ended when George Lucas left. I dont have much sentiment for game companies. Its creative people who does matter.
And while we're at it, let's at least end on a good note. Destroyer of worlds Kathleen Kennedy is leaving Disney by the end of 2025. And of course I wish the devs from Monolith all the best and hope they find better jobs soon!!!

Co na to @CVUTPraha?
@gitpush_gitpaid the tech stack is fine. I was running almost the same stack (except RabbitMQ instead of Kafka) at 3 droplets (3*18$ + 12$ for K8S) and we had hundreds of thousands requests
It takes a serious amount of ambition to get out of that crappy $150k/yr remoted job with low stress and flexible 40 hrs
But if you don't take the leap you'll never get to earn $60k/yr working 90hrs/week for yourself always on call
