American Double Standards on Strategic Restraint.

Iran is only potentially to Israel what Pakistan is already to India: an ideological rival, a nuclear-armed antagonist, and a haven for terrorist actors. But while Israel is never asked to compromise with Iran, much less absorb rocket fire in the name of “stability,” India is regularly sermonised about reconciliation with a country that sends terrorists into its territory and threatens nuclear war in press conferences.

The message is clear: the security of American allies matters, but only when those allies are Western integrated and militarily useful to Washington’s own priorities. Indian lives, by contrast, are treated as negotiable. Brown restraint, it seems, is the price of American approval.

It is one thing for the U.S. to pursue its interests. All powers do. But it is quite another to moralise from a position of hypocrisy. If Washington cannot bring itself to hold Pakistan accountable, it has no moral standing to lecture India on the virtue of compromise. Especially not when it chooses missiles for Israel and mediation for Indians.

New Delhi should remember this the next time an American leader offers unsolicited advice cloaked in the language of peace.

It's a curse to be on the road when it rains. No provision to clear roadblocks by two wheeler riders who have blocked half the highway causing traffic snarls for kilometers on a busy Monday morning. Stuck for hours😪
