Shocking.
Dear @TimesNow,
Are you aware that Neerja Modi is the same school where a 9-year old Amaira committed suicide after its teachers continuously ignored her complaints?
Are you aware that the first thing which school did after the incident was to wipe off the floor?
Are you aware that the school’s affiliation from Class 9-12 was cancelled by the CBSE for gross safety violations?
If yes and you still decided to award the school, you are also a perpetrator of injustice like so many others.
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
Delhi, India. A music teacher from Manipur beaten to death at Kilokari under Sunlight colony police station, South Delhi. Chongtham Vikram has been residing in the area for atleast 10years in the area. He objected to loud noises and nuisance created in front of his house. What happened was around 7/8 people beaten him brutally. Vikram was living with his son and wife. His son rushed him to nearby hospital but he succumbed.

Mama,
I last saw you and Papa together more than 35 years ago. Since the day Papa left, I have watched you face everything life threw at you with never-ending courage and dignity. Only Priyanka and I really know what you have been through, and how difficult your life after Papa truly was.
I am happy, and so proud, that your story - “Belonging: A Journey of Love” - will finally be read by the millions of people who love you. I know how hard it was for someone as private as you to tell the world your beautiful story.
Today, on his birthday, I can see Papa smiling and looking down proudly at his beautiful Sonia.
Love,
Rahul
What have Jantar Mantar Protests achieved?
It is a freedom movement for education. It is liberation. Education is now mainstream. It is THE issue. While they discussed religion and caste, students are a political class in themselves.
As we sit now, the impact hasn’t stopped with a silly resignation. It expanded. As I write, there have been more than 200+ cases of students protesting for basic infrastructure - teachers, food, fans, lights, toilets etc. And many are getting resolved too. This will only fuel others to hit the streets demanding basic rights.
The administration is scared. Independent journalists are fanning across the country focussing on education issues. The political class has no answers. Education is mainstream. Bureaucracy is running scared. States are running to fix school infra issues. Bar Council of India had to withdraw an anti student circular in 40 minutes. Magistrates are running to school on demand.
The CJP campaign of ‘School Thik Karo’ will further expand reach and create ground level impact. These protests are not about to die. You have a cockroach in every home. You have an independent voice in every school, college - unafraid and asking questions. You have independent journalists taking charge. Mainstream media has lost the plot. It is no longer in control of the narrative. Opposition isn’t afraid and talking the tough language. People aren’t afraid. Students aren’t afraid.
The Jantar Mantar protests achieved what was considered impossible.
It is a freedom movement. For Education.
When you throw ink at someone who is fighting for a collective cause, you may imagine that you are silencing a person. In truth, you reveal yourself as an agent of a regressive, authoritarian order. Those driven by the spirit of 'transformation' wipe the ink from their faces, but they do not wipe away the cause from their hearts.

There is not a single woman minister in Karnataka cabinet- The social justice agenda of the Congress party of which gender parity and representation in political and elected institutions is a defining aspect has been wilfully abandoned by the party . A much needed course correction ought to be made by inducting adequate number of women in the Cabinet. The science of the media on this issue must also be called out @RahulGandhi@priyankagandhi
Jantar Mantar protests did a world of good to India and Indians. It empowered students across states. It focussed on education as a need, a demand and a right that should be fought for. Indian students are done waiting. A wave of protests have hit UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, MP, Maharashtra & Jharkhand etc.
In Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, about 1,500 students, Classes 6-12, staged a 6-hour sit-in at Sarvodaya Inter College. No fans, no library, no computer lab, unsafe drinking water, broken desks. Officials came calling within a day.
In Gays, Bihar, A government school with a broken hand pump, dead fans, shattered benches. Students protested and refused to speak to a junior official. They demanded the District Magistrate himself show up. He did.
In Jalore, Rajasthan, students locked the gates themselves, demanding teachers for grades 1-3 that simply weren’t there.
In Barmer’s Ramsar school, same story. Kids literally not being taught subjects due to staff shortages.
Across MP, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Similar walkouts reported. Same core demands echoing across states: functional fans, clean water, hygienic toilets, teachers actually in the classroom.
What Jantar Mantar protests achieved is exceptional. India is discussing education, faculty shortages, unfairness, paper leaks, lack of school infrastructure. None of these demands are unreasonable and the minimum a public school owes a child. The fact it took a viral sit in to get it fixed is the real story.
I only wish this continues. We should continue to bring student issues to the forefront. Empower them with coverage, conversations. This can’t be allowed to fade as a one week news cycle. Keep asking. Keep covering. About vacant teacher posts in your district? What happened to the school infrastructure budget? Tag your local officials.
Don’t let this fade.
Please don’t let it fade.
Rarely has such a young generation under so much pressure carried such a huge task so lightly and so successfully with so much warmth, wit and wisdom. They found and lit a path forward that had remained hidden so far. That they remained remarkably free of the poison flowing all around them, at home and outside, in the last decade or two is a miracle in itself. May their future be as bright as they are!
You can ignore the sycophancy, the servility, the cheerleading tactics of the Godi media, but you cannot ignore their role as abusers, victimisers and stigmatizers of upright, courageous citizens and large sections of people to further the political interests of those in power.
Indian media being shamed, humiliated and unanimously rejected at every protest is an absolute delight to watch.
These vile, bloodthirsty charlatans don’t deserve even an ounce of respect.
