Ebola will never be a global pandemic like COVID-19.

To trigger a true pandemic, a virus needs:

• Airborne/easy transmission
• Asymptomatic spread (stealth)
• Hosts well enough to travel

Why Ebola is different:

• Not airborne: Requires direct contact with bodily fluids.
• No stealth spread: Zero contagion until severe symptoms appear.
• Incapacitating: Hosts get too sick, too fast to board flights or mingle globally.

While working in Eastern Congo, with Ebola infested communities, I witnessed a cultural shock!
There is a culture where the water used for cleaning the dead body is sprinkled on the present mourners!!
And since the dead family member died from Ebola, everyone at the burial was infected and after a week, thousands of dead bodies everywhere!!

PEPFAR is one of the most successful global health programs ever.

It provides HIV treatment for over 20 million people.

And now it faces a funding delay of up to 6 months.

Without access to treatment, HIV can rebound in less than a month.

This is self-defeating stupidity.
