Este video de Rossi y otro de Quintela confirman lo que ya sabíamos: el peronismo aspira a recuperar el control del BCRA y volver a financiar el exceso de gasto con emisión apenas tenga los votos.

Es notable que en un país con anomia institucional crónica (marcada a fuego por el principio "que se obedezca pero no que no se cumpla") persista la creencia de que este problema se puede "resolver" mediante una ley. Es casi lo mismo que creer que con un talismán se pueden ahuyentar fantasmas y malos espíritus.

Si hay algo que demuestran 200 años de historia es que la inflación en la Argentina es un problema político que no se resuelve mejorando la "ingeniería" jurídica. Mientras una mayoría del electorado vote por políticos como Cristina, Kicillof, Rossi, etc., ningún blindaje formal puede garantizar que esa mayoría no termine imponiéndose.

Además, conseguir un blindaje equivalente al de una ley-convenio no sería fácil. El mecanismo previsto por la Constitución para la coparticipación exige que la ley tenga origen en el Senado y sea aprobada por mayoría absoluta de la totalidad de los miembros de ambas Cámaras. Luego debe ser aprobada por las provincias. Hoy el oficialismo ni siquiera tiene mayoría propia en el Senado. Conseguir los votos necesarios en el Congreso y un acuerdo provincial suficientemente amplio para que ese blindaje sea efectivo parece muy improbable.

Las políticas sensatas sólo se sostienen si una coalición política mayoritaria las defiende.

La historia argentina está plagada de leyes que buscaban la discrecionalidad y arbitrariedad estatal que fueron modificadas, ignoradas o violadas impunemente cuando le convino al gobierno de turno.

Rossi no demuestra que sea necesario blindar al BCRA con “mejores” leyes. Demuestra que el único blindaje es de naturaleza política.

I’ve owned $AMZN for 15 years, and it’s been more than a 15 bagger for me.

Today, $AMZN is popular again, but investors generally have a short memory. It’s easy to forget that $AMZN stock produced virtually no returns for roughly 5 years. Even after its recent rally, $AMZN has compounded at only about 13% annually over the last 5 years.

Great businesses don’t deliver great returns every year, or even every 5 years. Sometimes the business keeps getting better while the stock goes nowhere. Other times, the stock gets far ahead of the underlying fundamentals of the business.

The point isn’t whether $AMZN is cheap or expensive today. It’s that maintaining perspective is one of an investor’s greatest advantages. Recency bias causes people to extrapolate whatever has happened lately, when history shows that investing rarely works that way.

Of course, past returns have absolutely nothing to do with future returns. But remembering the past can help you make better decisions about the future. 🌹
