Whoa, this thread seems to have hit a nerve. We're used to our phones being surveillance devices but not our TVs. Can we do better than fighting (and losing) this battle in every new domain? I see only one way: let's de-legitimize targeted advertising as a business model.
@Slade@josh_emerson I have heard of people leaving twitter enmasse in protest. You might want to check further if it concerns you. Perhaps if you haven't lost followers your demographics isn't as broad as you think. Perhaps you live in an echo chamber.
@SBSDiva It doesn't sound like civil war to me. It sounds like a request for the supreme court to require states to enforce their own legislatures' legislative authority. Each if those states could have passed the required legislation the right way last spring. Read the complaint.
@GossiTheDog The best way is to make business functional. Remediate, rebuild, and restore services as needed. Work with business leaders informing them of the risks in business language. They already buy insurance. Why aren't they buying yours?
@MattWalshBlog God knows. Pray. While you are still breathing, and your heart is still beating it is never too late to start. Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness.
Yes, it is that simple.
@GossiTheDog If there could be a poster child for doing apps wrong this would be it. Poor testing, poor training, poor execution. Nevada Dems took a page from Trump's playbook and said, "You're Fired!"
@MattWalshBlog I used to be for free trade agreements. Now I am unequivocally against them. They are methods to decrease cost at the expense of poor politics. It is a political shortcut that hurts local manufacturers in favor of large multinationals.
@JenMsft Can you speak to recent search updates? Specifically how to turn the updates off, how to stop the data leaks and what data is sent to which servers?
@MattWalshBlog Politically it would be better to discuss the almost 25,000 cases of Wuhan coronavirus and the almost 500 reported deaths due to it. Then discuss how China is treating it's own people that are infected with it. Quarantine is one thing but what I have seen looks like a prison.
@WindowsUpdate How do we turn off search updates so we are not beta testing your software mistakes? Where is the slider bar that does this and what is the powershell command for it? How can it be set in GPO? What information is leaving our Business? Do I need to change my DLP settings?
@GossiTheDog Hmmm, my grandpa's Anti-Virus was a clove of garlic, an orange, and dandylion salad with fresh onions so I guess you are right.
Regardless, Microsoft has done little to earn my business with Windows Defender. To put it plainly their customer service and support sucks.
