@lakens MI would like it to be more cooperative, where individuals fulfil distinct roles with are closely aligned to a collective aim. Ie ‘do research together’ maybe à la Human Frontiers Science Program Research Grants https://t.co/YJuwOz5Bs1
Our department is hiring! Come join our team :)

@SciMed_Football @PCI_Health_Mov @PCI_RegReports@chrisdc77@SciMed_Football really practices what it preaches. Excellent continuation of initiatives, alongside recently released updated guidelines for authors, driving more transparent and reproducible scientific practices.
If you're a sports and exercise sci and med researcher, please help us by filling out this survey on #openscience. Thank @DrGSBullock for leading this important study and encouraging open science in our field, which is something @STORKinesiology has also been promoting for years.
@SCU_Australia and I are excited to share that we are hosting the @ASAN_Online Conference on our Gold Coast Campus this year. Join us on November 28/29th for a fantastic knowledge-sharing experience. See below for more information.

@coach_samuelT Of course. Nonetheless we can sense things aren’t as cosy in decel-land as they look. The limitation here is really that we used ‘second hand’ info, where decel parameters were secondary outcomes, but perhaps decel is more difficult to train than we thought.
This open access work meta analyses the literature on deceleration ability. We showed that in the current literature, training interventions which measure deceleration outcomes (even if they were not targeting them specifically) favour the control over the intervention group.

The final study from my PhD is now available online!
We found that:
- Coach instruction is potentially linked to cooperative team behaviour.
- Free-play without instruction may lead to more individual actions by players.

@andykirkland71 My field, skill acquisition science, would hardly be described as an established area, I would think. That being said, there are not a huge number of people interested in Open Science practices there.
@andykirkland71 I can’t speak for everyone of course, but I am realising I have only two choices left as an academic. Swim with the current or get out of the water. Being more interested in Open Science is my way of swimming to the shore.
@andykirkland71 But that of course does not mean we can’t promote these practices (as you know). To me this is something I can do to make myself feel better about being an academic, so interestingly I do it for very selfish reasons.
@timgill924 Peaceful rainfall = ‘sound of man urinating after 6 Duvels and a jug of water chaser to avoid old-man-hangover’. That’s a minute of sound. Loop that 100 times and show a looped video of rain falling on a tin roof. Then thank me later
