🚨The Problem of Purity in Moral Psychology🚨, accepted at PSPR.
Purity revolutionized moral psych, but what is purity!?
Is purity about ✝️,💩,🍦,🍆,or🐔🍆?!
We find *9 kinds* of purity. We show why purity is so diverse & why that's a big problem

⬇️ Interesting analysis of legislative debates about abortion in Belgium by @JobVossen et al. Opponents of more liberal policy emphasized the immorality of abortion, the rights of doctors to refuse performing abortion, men's freedom of speech, women's rights, and fetal life.
The main ways to get theory of mind are
1. One clear narrative idea in a paper
2. Explicit linking theory/studies to narrative
3. Explaining how your choices make sense given narrative (why this theory, why this study, why this story)
A really important report from @Beyond_Conflict about the psychological drivers of polarization and anti-democratic sentiment.
They highlight the power of perceived threat and victimhood, consistent with our work on importance of perceived harm in driving moral conflict.
Job P.H. Vossen @JobVossen introduces a theory of morality and links it with a social constructivist framing approach to then carry out a computer-assisted morality framing analysis of Vlaams Belang's 2019 manifesto. https://t.co/PCyASMPrnE
What are your favorite examples of *open data* that can be *analyzed with computational models*? I’m teaching a class on model fitting in psychology, and would love to expose students to behavioral models & datasets beyond those from my research. @OpenAcademics RT plz!

Russia should be blocked from #Swift. I don't understand why the progressive German government, led by @OlafScholz, @ABaerbock and @c_lindner, have blocked this. https://t.co/AHG0thwAvQ
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba: "Everyone who now doubts whether Russia should be banned from SWIFT has to understand that the blood of innocent Ukrainian men, women and children will be on their hands too."

Our empirical contribution suggests that the populist radical right, in particular, uses immorality frames that cast good-doing innocent citizens as potential victims of different threatening subjects, be they Marxist, leftist sociologists, or illegal and criminal aliens. 4/4
