@Lavader_ This type of person has no self respect, they'd do anything to impress the people who view them as racial enemies and have their worst interests at heart, its a repulsive display, and anyone with a modicum human dignity views this archetype as subhuman
@waterburgr When I was a lad, I saw a video on discord of an Indian guy finding his entire family hanged by his wife, everyone was dead, even his baby, and he was just crying softly in the background. That video isn't the goriest thing I've ever watched but its probably the most haunting
@ConradBastable I kinda wish he survived Rotj and lived the rest of his life trying to rebuild the jedi order he destroyed, but realistically the new republic would have him imprisoned or executed. I don't think Vader can't be redeemed, but a single good deed cant redeem a lifetime of evil
@Megl4don@SilentRyde11488 So all they've done is beat their Jobber boss fights and gained new power ups that will help them win in their Jobber boss fights. Gotcha. Sanji and Zoro be carrying the entire crew geg.
@darkhighlander2@SilentRyde11488 One piece has creative power ideas that get used in the most bland way possible. I do admit the Exposition of hxh isn't ideal, but its a better alternative then getting a maze every page with random moves being yelled out and million reaction image panels from spectators
@Megl4don@SilentRyde11488 You cant name me examples because you can't. By calling me biased you expose your own conceit. I will admit leorio isn't the most pro-active character in hxh, but that's because he hasn't been present for a good chunk of the story, unlike most of the straw hats
@darkhighlander2@SilentRyde11488 The fact the fights are simple is what makes them boring. You're just waiting the entire time until Luffy or some other character delivers the final blow on. No tension, no creativity, fuck not even clarity since wano, every fight in modern one piece looks like a maze
@Megl4don@SilentRyde11488 Most straw hats don't even talk to each other bro. Also its not just the fact that chrollo has friends, its how he views himself in relation to the lives of his friends, and how he views his friends in relation to the lives of other people that makes him compelling
@Megl4don@SilentRyde11488 What have usopp, nami, brook, or robin have done in the past ten years that is in anyway interesting or relevant in advancing the story. Besides I guess fighting their stock Jobber boss fights
@Megl4don@SilentRyde11488 Chrollo was a good character way before his backstory was established, his actions and bonds towards his fellow phantom troupe members was enough to establish who he was and what he stood for as a person.
@Megl4don@SilentRyde11488 My ultimate point is that a majority of one piece characters are bland two dimensional props that never develop or meaningfully interact with the world and cast. And that the over use of sad backstories is a crutch to manipulate you into caring about nothing characters
@Megl4don@SilentRyde11488 It's bad when that's all there is to a character, a sad back story that manipulates you into caring about a bland character with no development.
@darkhighlander2@SilentRyde11488 It's true hxh has Exposition issues, but its never used to explain character motivations or spell out the themes, its mainly used to explain mechanics of the fights. This ultimately adhances the clarity of the fights . Unlike Oda who never explains anything about the fights
@politicalmath I watched it in high school, and while I thought it was a well made movie, I wasn't afraid of it because I saw a nostalgia critic video that basiclaly reenacted the plot when I was like 10
@RdlrtM86333@MYTHOTROPOS Would he had done what he did without the existence of Melkor or the theft of the silmarils? Were his actions informed by an internal contradiction between what he wanted and what he had to do?
