@lelacooper_ The ANWR drilling issue is so frustrating. I see a lot of campaigns opposing it, but it seems like little progress has been made. If you find any optimistic news please share it!
Giving my #poecap presentation was of course a huge weight off my shoulders, but I’m most thankful for the opportunity to share my wonderful #UWEnvironment cohort with my loved ones. Shoutout to you all for being awesome! #deep#envir492

@pranavbhardwaj_@Remfrawg@sun_stalker @cafujikawa @litanpoe@LinaLi51786472@marwaofearth@lelacooper_ The hard part was making sure my content told a story that was understandable to everyone in the audience. Took a lot of edits to make that happen but presenting a few times in front of Sean and the rest of our class was super helpful. You’ll do great in the Spring!
@KerrianneMcCar1 It depends a lot on the other compost ingredients and composting method, but the compostable components of compostable diapers generally take a few months. That’s way better than the 500 years that conventional diapers take to break down in a landfill.
@DrewSimps842 right now the cost of production is presumably higher, but economies of scale will lower that cost as compostable diapers become more popular. Production aside, the long-term costs of composting diapers are far lower than the costs of safely managing stinky soiled diapers
@KawczynskiDiana i got a good response rate for a 5 minute survey. Mostly multiple choice, with demographics at the end (personal info scares people away)
@sun_stalker@Seattle_PL@grist@uwpoe I have to work on Sundays but it’s comforting to know that there’s support out there for this specific type of existential crisis
Good read. Also shout out to @DYCLE_org. I spent a lot of time researching compostable diapers, and I think they are the only organization to do it right. #ENVIR492
