if a person is used to interactions where ‘sweeping things under the rug’ is normal and unused to directly addressing issues and the feelings they elicit. they’ve likely not learned to healthily deal with conflict, so silent treatment/stonewalling may be their 1st line of defense
The most conflicting messages. “Being gay is not a crime but it is a sin so let’s help you change” this is another reason why I cannot support the church. This is not a safe space.
