Why classic cardiogenic shock is scary!
With a 54% mortality rate, "cold & wet" shock is a race against time. Look for rales and clammy skin—they’re drowning on dry land. Don't wait for a BP drop; if perfusion is floor-level, start pressors or mechanical support immediately.#ICU
Procedures that are infrequently performed should be practiced regularly.

👉 NEW Procedure Video: Resuscitative Hysterotomy
When seconds matter, every movement counts. In this brand-new procedure video, Drs. Jess Mason and Tarlan Hedayati take the stage at the IncrEMentum Conference @IncrEMentuMconf to demonstrate one of the rarest—and most high-stakes—emergency procedures: the resuscitative hysterotomy.
You’ll see exactly how this life-saving intervention is performed when both mother and fetus are in critical distress during cardiac arrest. Watch as Drs. Mason and Hedayati walk through the indications, technique, and decision-making pearls that can make all the difference when time is running out.

Thrombolytic therapy during CPR
➡️ rtPA may boost ROSC but survival gains uncertain
➡️ Best signal in suspected PE with careful selection
➡️ Bleeding—especially ICH—is the trade off
➡️ Early, pragmatic 50–100 mg regimens under study

Preoxygenation in the ICU
➡️ Intubation in the ICU is characterised by hypoxia & physiological derangement
➡️ Preoxygenation can be with BVM, HFNC or NIV

And finally, our book on #mechanicalventilation ... it's out there!Aiming to have a uniform, approach in presenting, for each topic, both the physiology and the “evidence based” data. I'm so grateful to all the great experts who contributed to the book! https://t.co/tBICd8yJks

Chest x-rays miss up to 60% of lung consolidations. Especially if they are retro-cardiac.
#pocus misses about 5% if you do a full exam.
