Veteran, Husband, Father, Adamant Believer in Jesus Christ, Fitness Warrior, Go Warriors, Falcons, Braves, Hawks, DAWGS, and Chiefs. Comic book JUNKIE!!!
I don't know who "these guys" or "they" are. But it doesn't burn *me* up at all. I don't "hate" it in the least.
And no, I'm not signaling "defense of antisemites" as Berry accuses me of here with zero evidence. (Also, pretty insane to call @JackPosobiec an "anti-semite" given he was close friends with Charlie Kirk and is still close with @TPUSA).
For months, I've let this stuff from Joel go unanswered. But he refuses to stop lying about me, so here we go.
Of course, Jesus was Jewish. He was a descendant of David! The promised Messiah, the one whose throne would be established forever (2 Samuel 7:16).
But Christians believe Jesus Christ inaugurated a New Covenant, as He both preceded and fulfilled the Old Covenant.
And our religion, Christianity, which we believe is the one true religion, is the totality of this unfolding plan of God for salvation for all who believe in Jesus and are reconciled to the Father.
For months, maybe even a year-plus, I have intentionally and meticulously stayed out of the debates about Israel - both the foreign policy questions and the theological questions.
Why? Because it's not my mission. It's not my focus.
I want to help revitalize the SBC to become one of the greatest forces for good in America, exactly when we most need a robust, renewed Protestant Christian influence. That's what we do with @BaptistLeaders, and we welcome dispensationalists and classic Reformed Baptists alike to join that project.
We don't and won't make views on Israel a dividing line for us. We've published @Ptr_StephenFein and @DavidSchrock, two great Baptist pastors who would have different views on the question, and I'd happily publish both again.
I count both @lukemoon1 and @BonifaceOption as friends, two guys who have very different views on this issue!
Neither side can claim me as a totem of their projects. I've cheerfully spoken at @yhazony's NatCon 2x and would no doubt do so again if asked.
I also agree with just about everything I hear our excellent Vice President, @JDVance, say when he addresses the political questions about our nation's relationship.
But the Christian faith deserves to be defended.
In the midst of a few busy days, I saw the back-and-forth about Jordan Peterson calling the Ten Commandments "Jewish," and the debates about whether David or Abraham were "Christians."
And while I didn't want to engage directly, as a Protestant Christian, I don't agree with Peterson's characterization. So I appealed to Scripture, as Protestants do, and quoted Jesus Christ himself on the relationship between Jesus and Abraham, and, by extension, Moses and all the prophets and all the Old Testament.
Christians believe that the entire Bible is indeed Christian Scripture. This isn't controversial.
Thoughtful Jews would understand we believe that, even as they disagree. And I would disagree with them about who Jesus Christ is and call on them to repent and accept the Messiah. I would ask them, as I ask all those outside of Christ, to become Christians. To follow in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul, a "Hebrew of Hebrews," and to understand Scripture and the covenants as expounded in books like Galatians and Ephesians.
None of that is "hateful." All of that is basic, standard Protestant Christian beliefs. I don't hate anyone for their ethnicity, race, or religion.
But I refuse to water down what I believe, and what I believe the inerrant and infallible Word of God tells us is true, for fear of offending anyone.
Which brings us back to Joel Berry, who is neither thoughtful nor does he operate in good faith.
He just lies with impunity. And I'm starting to wonder who is paying him to attack me and to keep dragging my name through the mud.
What the Christian world needs, what the Conservative, Republican, and Right Wing spaces need, more than anything right now, is statesmen.
I've tried to model statesmanship in this debate, both the theological and the political, primarily by staying out of it and working to keep friendships on both sides.
Because I know this: When it comes to the Left, they don't care at all.
If Gavin Newsom is our president, and ANTIFA squads are given free rein, and the Left has power again, do you think they are going to treat me, Joel Berry, JD Vance, Kevin Roberts, Andrew Isker, Stever Deace, Alex Bruesewitz, or Luke Moon differently because of our differing views on this?
Of course not.
We will hang together, or hang separately.
But what I won't do is what Joel Berry keeps doing: Tar and feather those who disagree with me through unfounded attacks meant to harm and hurt other people.
There is no unity, there is no honor, there is no godliness in that approach.
If Joel wants to do that, so be it. He isn't a statesman; he's a jester and a mudslinger. We need far less of that.
And I trust people of good faith and sound mind on either side can see what he is doing and will reject it.
I would only tell a man's son one thing: your father ate something he wasn't supposed to eat, and now your hunger is broken for life. Everything you want to devour will devour you, every woman you chase without reverence will hollow you out, every power you grab without paying the price will own you. Adam took the fruit because it looked good, and now every son of every man reaches for things that look good and pays the same price. The only thing I would tell you is learn what is not for you, before it teaches you itself
Some sad news, #BravesCountry,
Today, a Braves fan and great part of Braves Twitter, Megan (@3x5), passed away after her battle with cancer. Megan fought this cancer battle to the end. RIP to Megan, and my condolences and prayers are with her family and close friends.
RIP @3x5.
This Braves X community is something special. Megan was a huge part of it for a lot longer than I have been. She was as passionate as any. I had these note cards made just for when we wanted to send her something from the booth to let her know we were thinking of her and wanted to make it look a little more pro. We’ll remember her every time we use one. This all happened way too fast for someone so young and it doesn’t seem fair.
Braves Country lost a great one.
Idc, this is the play of the year for the Braves. The moment in the game, the fact that the Braves needed a win badly, the runner that was thrown out, the throw being perfect, the catch being made at the tag, Drake holding onto the ball.
Just a beautiful display of baseball.
“Social services called a 13 year old girl racist and recommended contraceptives to her instead of denouncing her Pakistani rapists”
“Social services returned a girl to a grooming gang to not be racist”
Our inquiry report proves that without doubt there is an undeniable link between religion and the rape gangs.
Islam.
As a country, we need to find the courage to finally say so.
To be clear:
Wokeness raped them
- Police feared accusations of racism so they didn't report
- Detectives were told to stop "antagonizing minorities"
- The UK banned media from reporting rapists' ethnicities
Wokeness raped a quarter of a million British girls.
Never.
Again.
