Man, @jkenney lies so easily. Just tried to claim it’s false that 95 per cent of Alberta school boards have rejected his curriculum. I counted. It’s very true. The premier either lies with ease or can’t count to 61 (the number of boards) #ableg#abed
Teachers are "feeling a little disrespected". "They've been working on the front-line so they would like to have that hard work they've been doing through the pandemic recognized by the government." -ATA president Jason Schilling. https://t.co/F4Q2m0b8Vw #Abed#COVID19AB
@bert_clarkson@AdrianaLaGrange She’s in a classroom with 28 students,(can’t social distance), she’s had to physically restrain students while being pinched, kicked and slapped as well as isolate due to being in contact which COVID positive students. While isolating she still had to work.
Can you imagine being an educator, navigating 30 babies who are losing their minds all at once!? Teacher convention is here and I am honoured to be speaking at the @CCTCA. “If those of us holding our babes aren’t okay, our kids don’t stand a chance”.
Dear Alberta Ed; I am not certain why you are hiring curriculum advisors from out of province when I was born and raised here; have taught here for 28 years; and will advise you for free. The last thing I want or need is an outsider advising me on Indigenous education matters.
@AdrianaLaGrange If the Critical Worker Benefit recognizes determination to go above and beyond for students, do you not consider teaching in person, online, learning to teach virtually, supporting learning at home, adapting modes of instruction..to be going above and beyond? What am I missing?
The new draft curriculum was excellent! I can’t imagine why anyone would want to take away the work of so many dedicated teachers that immersed themselves in modernizing and writing the best curriculum the province would see, and now who’s starting over?@5464kim@NLuyckfassel
My condolences to Alberta teachers tonight as you watch the system you've worked so hard to build be dismantled and discredited by @Alberta_UCP. We physicians know how you feel and we support you. Nurses - U r next and we'll be here 4 u too. @Albertadoctors@albertateachers
The 2013 Ministerial Order on Student Learning inspired me in leading learning, raising achievement, focusing on high school re-design, innovation and student engagement. Literacy and numeracy were our focus then and always will be. That order was the foundation of our success.
An excellent way to support our nurses! Every shift you work so hard to care for people and then worry about your own, and your families health and safety. Keep Safe!!
Have seen some dumb Comms from @jkenney 's Government, but the whole "we will give health care all the funding it needs during the pandemic" line isn't really holding up when just about every frontline health care worker we've talked to says the opposite #ableg#abhealth
