Motion to the Obidient Movement for Endorsement
Advance Notice to PDP, Other Opposition Parties, and Coalition Advocates
Dear Esteemed Leaders and Stakeholders,
I, Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim, move that the Obidient Movement adopts the following position regarding coalitions or mergers ahead of the 2027 Presidential Elections. We are open to strategic alliances that prioritize Nigeria’s progress and the interests of its citizens. However, we unequivocally affirm that Mr. Peter Obi will be our presidential candidate in 2027 elections.
This notice preempts any claims that Mr. Obi’s candidacy could “split votes.” With over two years until the elections, opposition parties have ample time to resolve internal challenges, strategize, and select competent candidates in other elective positions, to foster constructive dialogue for National unity.
At this time, dislodging the APC requires exceptional leadership from Southern Nigeria to complete the southern term after Buhari’s 8-year tenure which was followed by disastrous Tinubu’s tenure. We firmly assert that Mr. Peter Obi embodies the competence, integrity, and vision needed to lead Nigeria to greatness. We call on all opposition parties and coalition advocates to respect our position, align their strategies, and collaborate toward rescuing Nigeria.
I hereby move this motion.
Those in favour, say Yey.
Those against, say Nay.
Today, I received the sad news of the passing of Ijeoma Egelonu, a committed and cherished member of our Obidient family. She fought bravely while battling illness, and I remember visiting her in the hospital in Abuja last December. In those moments, I saw her unwavering spirit, and I encouraged her to hold on to hope as we all prayed for her full recovery.
Hearing of her passing today is truly heartbreaking. Yet, even in our grief, we surrender to the divine will of the Almighty, who alone gives and takes life.
On behalf of my family and the entire Obidient family, I extend my deepest condolences to her loved ones and to all of us who feel the pain of this great loss. Ijeoma played her part in our collective struggle for a better nation, and her contributions will never be forgotten. Her memory will live on in our hearts, inspiring us to keep pushing forward.
May God Almighty grant her eternal rest and give her family, friends, and all who mourn her the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss. May God protect and bless her family always. -PO
