My 15-year-old asked what I do on my coaching calls.
So I said, “Want to have one?”
He reluctantly agreed. 😂
And something weird happened.
I stopped being Dad trying to impart wisdom and became a coach asking questions.
He opened up about something I had no idea was weighing on him.
Made me wonder:
Maybe our kids don’t always need our wisdom.
Maybe sometimes they just need our curiosity.
A major cheat code in life: Being a pleasure to deal with. Kind when others aren’t. Calm when things go sideways. Reliable under pressure. Intelligence alone is overrated. Be someone who lightens the load for folks around them. People value people who make their lives easier.

No one cheers for you not drinking for a day, not smoking on a long drive, or not overeating for one night.
No single workout or meal is ever impressive on its own.
The reason so few people understand success is—consistency never looks impressive in the moment, only at the end.
A family counselor of 50yrs told me:
A strange thing happens when a child sees their father loving their mother- they feel like their father is loving them.
Same thing when their mother shows affection to their father.
IHO, it's the only time a human can be loved indirectly.
When I meet other men, we are either:
1. Doing something good for us that we both enjoy eg tennis or golf
2. Exchanging information that is useful to the other party
3. Or coordinating resources to help the other party succeed better or faster
That's it.
I'm not interested in small talk. I'm not interested in conforming to social norms. I don't care if you're funny. You don't care if I'm funny.
Let's just cut to the chase and figure out how we can be useful to each other as fast as possible, or let's not hang out.
Life is too short for sitting around and hanging out without purpose.
You guys actually meet for days and come up with these rankings?? @CFBPlayoff Do you actually watch the quality of players, teams, and road environments (we played in one of yours this year 💤) or just try and make the ACC feel relevant ?? Btw one of your teams paid us not to play again next year. Same #12 spot you guys had Clemson ranked last week. How did that go against the @SEC??? Rewatch UGA Clemson closely if you want a reminder of the two conferences. #SpotTheBall anywhere @ACCFootball #RemeberTakeAKnee
Hey Danny….i say this with all due respect for ur mediocre career and even less mediocre career after throwing senseless picks at FSU……STFU! We know u hate the SEC, we get it. No need to pee in our corn flakes cuz ur on ur period! Congrats on Charleston Southern.
Biden's refusal to interfere in the Longshoreman strike reinforces the message that Trump has delivered for the past decade.
Trump has argued that globalization threatens our national security.
Everything we import is dependent upon bringing cargo to specific points of entry.
These have become choke points.
All you have to do is shut down cargo flows at these choke points, and you shutter supply chains.
Since most of our manufacturing sector has some level of global dependency (raw materials, components, etc) - when you put a chokehold on these entry points, you shut off the oxygen to a large percentage of our manufacturing supply chain—even products manufactured and produced in the US.
This should be illegal.
But it's not.
Union members operate under a scorched earth policy, willing to take us all down if they don't get their way. Their asks are extreme: 77% pay increase and absolutely no automation.
The refusal to accept automation is based on the fact that technology will eliminate union members. Without automation, we will be even more vulnerable in the future.
Worse yet, the counter-party the union is negotiating with includes many companies not based in the United States.
Globalization has left us incredibly vulnerable, and Biden is the only party that can force the Union back to work.
It's a no-win situation for Biden.
If he intervenes, he will upset union members across the country.
If he doesn't intervene, he reminds every American that we are incredibly vulnerable to these choke points and, thus, globalization.
Unfortunately for Biden, his unwillingness to take action proves that Donald Trump's war on globalization has merit.
I wrote a letter to my wife outlining everything she needs to know about our finances, investments, and business if I were to pass suddenly.
In bold letters (3x times) I wrote “do not pay off the mortgage early, no matter what.”
We have a 30-year at 2.68%.
She’s far better off keeping the cash invested than paying off the mortgage.
Mortgages are among the cheapest form of financing you can get and the rate we have will likely never be cheaper. There are tax advantages to mortgages as well.
Even if our mortgage rate was 6%, I’d feel the same.
RFK Jr: "I’ll leave you with three thoughts..."
1. Any power that Government takes from the people, it will never return voluntarily.
2. Every power that Government takes, it will ultimately be abused to the maximum extent possible.
3. Nobody ever complied their way out of totalitarianism. The only thing we can do is resist.

The FDA knows the majority won’t consent to another Covid vax so here we are…who was it that used to say, “wake up America!” They were right. @RobertKennedyJr
New FDA ruling exempts clinical trials with “minimal risk” from informed consent. That means that researchers can experiment on you without your knowledge or permission, so long as they claim that what they are testing is “safe.”

Look - I focus on golf. And I need to stay in my lane.
But I need to share what's going on in the great state of Iowa.
• Iowa & Iowa State athletes were charged in a sports gambling probe last summer.
• It came out today that the Iowa DCI illegally placed a Geofence around underage University of Iowa dorms to monitor any betting activity.
• They had no probable cause or warrants to do so.
• Special agent was told to stop. He didn't - then he went to the University of Iowa Athletics facility and did the same thing.
• He found unusual activity. He brought it to his superiors - they gave him the green light to keep digging.
No warrants, no probable cause. Just an Iowa DCI Agent who was snooping around and placing Geofences and monitoring betting apps.
