@CloudWrestling@NODQCreations Just too hard in MyFaction for no reason. They amped up the difficulty way more than ‘25. Also, the game STILL glitches out with either all black screen or some kind of geometric scramble pattern in the middle of matches on occasion.
@fandompulse It sucks they even put those jokes in there AND put them in the previews, because the movie really wasn't bogged down with any of that political messaging. it was a few lame jokes, and maybe a few too many times, but really the movie is fun and finds its place pretty well.
@DwarvenConstit1 Give it a go, the 'message' isn't really all that bad, just a couple little references here and there, mostly via lame jokes. the action sequences more than make up for it.
And..? Star Wars came out with no previous iteration, and it kicked off a franchise. A new movie for a (hopefully) new audience. My kids loved it, so did i. Sequels will come, it will make it's money back and sell some merch. The blockbuster movie model isn't the only way to make money. It's currently #1 in blu ray presales on Amazon.
I think it's more of an indication of theaters declining in appeal. expensive, and if there are other poeple in there, someone will likely be playing on their phone or talking and making people wonder why they even bother trying the theater. Luckily, i got to see it in the theater with my two young kids, and we pretty much had the whole room to ourselves. we all enjoyed it! Went to Target and bought my son a sword of power right after (my daughter wanted a labubu).
I think the previews kinda undersold this movie. It was fun for me (grew up with the toys and the cartoon) and my young kids loved it. The previews should have just been cuts from the colorful action scenes and showing the crazy characters. For some reason they tried to make it look like a message or lesson movie or trying to make some kind of commentary on modern society and politics, which the movie really didn’t. Maybe a couple of understated jokes but overall it was just dumb fun. More of these please! They have a chance to build an MCU type universe, bring Bravestat and Blackstar in to the mess movies. Just don’t try to hard to do that Marvel style of humor, build your own style. The characters and the fun will do most of the work.
Some people just can’t have fun at the movies.
It’s fun. Remember fun ya cynical fucks?
Sure it’s stupid, silly, a little bloated… but it’s also funny, cool, fun, nostalgic and cartoony.
Just like the cartoon is.
@Cartoonhistory2 it was good, not great, but fun and will likely get better!
PS. Stay off of Earth in the next one, just stick with the fantasy/sci-fi locales.
@NoDMsPerfavore no. tribalism is a losing concept if 'your' tribe commits a crime and you decide to be ok with it. justice is supposed to be blind.
good luck everybody.
It was fun, had a few awkward/boring moments for the kids, but they loved it, and i enjoyed it. no real 'controversy' they actually make light of the new sensitivity about being 'manly' or speaking your mind, etc. it was kind of clever, though i'd rather they just ignored trying to justify the action or fighting taking place. it's a sci-fi, fatasy war epic, just let it be that and don't worry about what some people will inevitable complain about. Go see it, the opening battle hooked me and i felt like they knew what they were doing. it was just fun. Also Idres Elba was really great, and kind of stole the movie for me. I never really cared for the Man-At-Arms character, but he was really great in the role. Teela was spot-on as well, very strong and gorgeous without being presented as some kind of walking political statement. The Adam character was a bit annoying to me (just like he was in the cartoon when i was a kid) but that's kind of his role i guess. Great fun, a lot of characters, i hope they make more!
My son just asked me to set up the arcade machine in the garage (it's a hacked emulator with a bunch of old games on it). He said he wanted to play Donkey Kong. I said don't you have it on the Switch, or the NES Classic, you can play it on one of those.
He said, yeah but those don't have the pid factory level.
Well played, well played. I'm off to set up the arcade machine in the garage...
