@Phantom_Plague0@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 another thing, we're all different.. not everyone buys a game with the hope they'll have it 20 years from now... it does kinda suck but other than the rare licensing issue..I just lost that collector's mentality as I got older and have no room in my apartment for that lol
@Phantom_Plague0@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 plus the fact that it's pretty rare games get removed and not going to sit here and give up my gaming habit on the slight chance that happens... I mean if you're always worried about the worst outcome of everything you might as well never leave the house lol
@Phantom_Plague0@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 it's not that we're okay with it, no one likes it, it's just that we know what we're getting into and we know there's not much that can be done about it... I know I'm not like most gamers but for the most part i play a game and then I'm done..
@Mxssinho@keir_92@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 That's why I buy digital stuff through Amazon or Apple, the two companies least likely to ever go anywhere lol.. but yeah, just like you can't claim ignorance of the law to get off committing a crime, there's some expectation of accountability with these things...
@keir_92@Mxssinho@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 not saying it's right but that hasn't been the case with digital purchases of really anything, so it's a wrong assumption especially when you're notified of that before making the purchase.. but I do understand that it's only becoming relevant now
@Mxssinho@keir_92@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 yep, I've been completely digital on PS since the launch of the PS4, and I've been all digital on Apple for movies & TV for even longer.. never once lost anything... even when it does happen to people it's mostly license issues that are pretty rare in the grand scheme of things!
@keir_92@Mxssinho@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 I think everyone agrees, but digital marketplaces haven't been around that long, it's a newer thing, so can't treat it the same way... that being said I still think we're not just going to start losing things, if it was that common no one could claim they don't know about it lol
@Mxssinho@keir_92@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 yep, but people only see what they want to see, even though this license thing has been a topic of debate for like a decade now 😝
@realARSHIA@RinoTheBouncer they would just have to start making hardware again, nothing is stopping them except for the fact that it would be the beginning of the end of the company 😆
@paladinajs1@SmeltedFist@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 of course they would but that's also not accurate because then you'd have to choose a rental term lol... considering how rarely people lose a license to a game it's clearly not that big an issue since apparently so many gamers had no idea about it since it happens so rarely lol
@Djmoyer23@DillyDork@SmeltedFist I still say this proves that losing your license for a game isn't as big an issue as people think, because so many didn't even know it was an issue, since it's so rare for it to happen...
@middyodfk@SmeltedFist@DillyDork@Djmoyer23 every digital storefront is the same thing, people are so upset now that they think they're just going to lose everything, but it's not really common at all, and only really things they lose a licensing deal with
@QuasariousBlast@DillyDork the reason so many now are saying they never knew it was a license, even though it's right there when you make a purchase, is because it's extremely RARE for people to lose a digital license for a game... otherwise everyone would know!
@QuasariousBlast@DillyDork well how do you revoke a physical game? all I meant is that people are upset about losing physical so they're now acting as if every single day everyone is just constantly losing games... not that I agree with everything but that is not the case regardless...
@TheBaconLife1@RinoTheBouncer it's hilarious that people just can't comprehend the fact it discs were still substantial, they wouldn't be looking to drop then... is it really that hard to understand? this is like when people think their favorite show got cancelled for no reason when it had awful ratings...
