@Rizz0725 I feel like this is just how most runs start on characters though. Showing a montage of them doing good, and saying how they’re finally getting the hang of stuff, right before you put them through hell. I mean, not even Peter is allowed to be good at being Spider-Man.
@Zarathos6967@iamrobtv Y’all gotta understand that these are kid focused teams and there should be those for young people to enjoy as well as the more popular teams.
Christopher Nolan calls out amateur movie critics for thinking spotting a movie trope means the film failed
"That's a fundamental flaw of film criticism in a way, or storytelling criticism, because to be able to identify the mechanism does not invalidate the mechanism."
"And that's a real problem in criticism today, because people have this idea that because I can understand why the story affects me, therefore it didn't work. That's not how storytelling works."
"When I was talking about film criticism, I was talking more about amateur film criticism than professional film criticism... because they feel they've identified the mechanism, they feel that it invalidates it."
"That could be true of certain elements, and film language evolves with that... but we do as filmmakers avail ourselves of that common language."
You guys do realize you are allowed to dislike something without having to come up with some made up moral or objective justification for why it is actually bad and why everyone has to agree with you, right?
@divedeepdavid@Wes_from_TC Rob completely takes what Mark is saying out of context and doesn’t get what Mark means. Mark isn’t saying that people can’t think comics were better before, but to be a successful creator for so long(like mark) you can’t just think the old stuff is good.
@BENZOTOOIE The “anyone can be Spider-Man” is one of the dumbest things about modern Spider-Man, right next to “relatable” being a character trait. I actually don’t have a problem with organic webbing though, as long as he’s still a geeky genius
RJ BRANDE IS DEAD.
SUPERHEROES ARE ILLEGAL.
LONG LIVE THE LEGION.
SEPTEMBER. WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF DC COMICS.
The future is dark, but the Legion is brighter. Introducing Hayden Sherman as the artist of the new LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES.
This new series has easily been the most intimidating project I've ever undertaken at DC. It's risky and different from what people might expect.
It matters to me that we carry on the Legion legacy while also re-introducing the characters we all love to today's new audience.
Calling something you may or may not like, that humans worked hard on, slop is probably my least favorite new internet thing.
Slop should be reserved for something spat out without care, consideration, or craft, by garbage merchants trying to turn a profit off of a machine.
Its always funny to me when people post stuff like this.
"Anime is right-wing!"
"No! It's Left-wing!"
But it very rarely has anything to do with politics, and the only reason people see any in there is because they're so far gone to their own worldview they can't see anything else.
“If you like/write characters who are bad people then that’s a reflection on you and what you believe” I genuinely believe if you have this mentality, you haven’t grown pass the age of 10 and all the media you consume is for children.
