@comicsexplained Supergirl will be a great $20 VOD. But Gunn and Safron really need to give the DCU a direction like the early MCU, and they really need to get their Batman and Wonder Woman on the board with solid movies behind them.

@robertliefeld Supergirl’s main issue is that mainstream audiences see her as a gender swapped Superman clone. And to be fair there are like three Supergirl stories they could have told and while WoT was the best option they didn’t have the budget or script to succeed.

@robertliefeld How much of Supergirl’s miss do you think can be attributed to the source material being aimed towards her fans and not a broader audience? As far as I understand it. Woman of Tomorrow was a great critical success, but didn’t sell Absolute numbers.

@GraceRandolph I thought the movie was fine. A long way from good, but ok. I don’t think anyone was miscast, but the script just didn’t work. For some reason they chose to make Supergirl a completely unlikable character who doesn’t go through an ark.

@GraceRandolph A lot of people went to see Disclosure Day because it's Spielberg, and let's face it. The dude knows where to put the camera. But even though I enjoyed the movie. That story is a real mess. Probably could have used another two or three drafts.

@KillMThomas @robertliefeld Haven't got that far yet. I just know about them from @comicsexplained. He talked about the book awhile ago and mentioned “the brain trust.”

That I heard another person mention Bendis wasin it.

@KillMThomas @robertliefeld I have been reading MCU: The Rise of Marvel Studios, and it seems that a lot of the reasons why the Infinity Saga worked are because of the brain trust.

But in all fairness I have not finish the book yet.

@robertliefeld I’m not going to say that Feige has never done anything for the success of the MCU because I don't know enough of the behind the scenes stories. But I have started to think Feige may have had very little to do with it.
