@markmartin for the first time in years, I’ve watched every lap of the 500 so far. Why? Because every point TODAY matters and the championship battle is already getting shuffled. Thank you for helping bring this format back!
@markmartin “Saving the owners money” has only cost the sport (and owners and drivers) in the long run and it’s led to the situation the sport is in right now. The NFL is king right now, are they trying to “save the owners money”? No…they’re investing money to make it bigger than ever.
@KySportsRadio We might be the only town in the U.S. for our population which has two separate hospital entities, two Walmarts and four Chick-Fil-A’s. It’s a hopping place.
@ClayTravis Something tells me the massive increases in home, auto and health insurance rates aren’t figured into the Feds “inflation” report? Glad it’s curbed off, but 18%+ increases in other essential services like insurance and medical costs make this news moot.
@jeremymayfield_@YouTube Ever since this trial started, it’s reminded me of your Dinner With Racers interview from years ago. Earnhardt was telling you right and he was spot on. Everyone thought you were crazy (even I had doubts), but you continue to be vindicated as time passes on.
@BarstoolWestern Just fine. Only 18 G5 schools went 8-4 or better this year. WKU was one of them. Due to the limited resources to attract recruits, funds, etc., I would argue it’s harder for a coach to go 8-4 at a G5 than going 8-4 at a Power 4 school.
@markmartin Hot take, but I’d argue Gordon is underrated and actually didn’t get enough credit. 93 wins in the modern era is a ridiculous number and may never be reached again!
@BarryBartley3@azwatergeek@markmartin The sport was historically built by owners and drivers who at one time pushed all their chips to the middle of the table and risked it all. It SHOULD be expensive and it SHOULD have financial risks…that’s what made it the best form of motorsports in the world.
@markmartin@NASCARHall I know you and Ben raced your guts out in 2002, but man I’ll always wonder if Jimmy could’ve made up 40 points to Stewart over the course of the season.
@markmartin Like Mark said in a recent interview: “We ain’t playing”. I might add it’s disrespectful to lump a sport as dangerous as auto racing in with stick & ball sports where the risks pale in comparison. I dare anyone to ask Preece if his barrel roll at Daytona was just “play time”.
@markmartin@YouTube When I became a fan in the 90s, the broadcast covering more about the technical side of the race car made me even more interested in the racing. If your guy was running 12th and he came to the pits to pull a spring rubber, you would stick around to see if it worked.
@KennyFr19@markmartin If any fans need someone to root for, go listen to Ryan Preece’s interview on the @DaleJr Download. It’s an old school, betting on himself story.
