“Late votes are disproportionately for Democrats” struck me as believable.
“Late votes are disproportionately for whichever Democrat needs to come in 2nd to keep a Republican out of a two-man runoff” is not.
@RMConservative No, Kendall Qualls is a RINO, a grifter, and a loser of many other elections in Minnesota.
That’s said, you should not expect a Ron DeSantis type Republican to be able to win in a state like Minnesota.
This is not Florida.
@Todd62Nelson@mngop This is just an endorsement. The primary on August 11th will choose the nominee for governor. That primary is open to all registered voters.
@SwannyDarko@mngop Only if he wins the Republican primary on Tuesday August 11th.
The convention only endorses a candidate, they don’t select who the nominee is to become.
One of the tell tale signs that we are never going back to normal "civil" politics has been the liberal reaction to Spencer Pratt.
Spencer's home and entire community, his kids school burned down, their friends homes burned down, all of it due to gross incompetence and negligence from LA city government.
The reservoir needed to fight the fire was left empty for an entire year as the LA City government refused to accept any contracts for a tarp repair.
In response, liberals laugh at him, bemoan him, lie about him, and force him to get private 24/7 security because he is facing death threats.
They will burn your house down and try to kill you when you want to fix the underlying problems that caused it.
We are never going back.
It’s important to note that this tweet from Talarico occurred about two weeks BEFORE the George Floyd died and the county erupted and every leftist started virtue signaling this garbage.
He truly was ahead of the curve, my gosh.
MeToo and the Trans stuff REALLY hamstrung D's ability to run normal dudes.
Pre 2016 or so, someone like Walz kind of made sense winning a purpleish/red district out here in MN.
The party had gotten kinda weird about race stuff after Ferguson and what not. But it didn't feel like everyone had to run through some purity test over it. It still made sense how a normal dude who likes women and hunting could still kind of be a squish on like... welfare benefits, tax policy, safe/legal/rare on abortion, etc.
But now, you take that same guy and force him to come out and acknowledge his privilege as a white cis male, and claim that trans women should be allowed in the girls bathroom... it changes the calculus.
Every possible explanation for why that guy is suddenly acting like that or saying those things is repulsive to a normal male voter. If you honestly believe those things, you are a weird and weak man. If you are just saying something you know to be false and harmful because it helps you get elected or avoid the woke mob... you are a spineless and weak man.
Piece of advice: if you are a parent, watch out what the Finns are doing and copy them. It's one of the few countries that pays closer attention to their youth. They observe, study, and adjust all the time!
For example, they are now gradually reversing their decade-long, tech-heavy education model to combat declining cognitive performance and severe classroom distractions. Schools are scaling back on devices in favor of printed textbooks, handwriting instruction, and pen-and-paper assignments.
Tim Walz Covid Snitch Line
If my account is remembered for anything let it be this.
Just like socialism, this is Tim Walz’s idea of being neighborly.
It’s one thing to read about it. It’s another to hear it.
@Catbendzick@MNUpNorthLakeG1 More importantly, she has been able to hold all her Republican members in line. A governor who can work with a friendly legislature would be very helpful.
My wife and I did the whole Ramsey thing when we were in debt and wanted to get out.
The first thing we did was completely move to cash for everything possible.
My wife had a habit of going to Target because she needed paper towels and coming home with two new outfits and some tchotchkes to put on the mantel.
She then started taking just enough cash with her to pay for whatever it was that she wanted and took notes about the things she wanted to buy so we could budget for it later.
We went debt-free, minus our mortgage, during a time when I was unemployed.
During this time we would eat out maybe once every couple of weeks. We were doing heavy meal prepping, tons of coupon cutting, and watched our budget like a hawk.
We still ate well and enjoyed life. My daughters never went hungry or without.
Eventually it became such a habit that we no longer missed the hundreds of money-sucking crap that we used to spend on.
But it took effort. And I'm just afraid too many people are looking for an easy button here to make everything better.
That easy button unfortunately will make everything worse.
