22 year retired Army vet with a lovely bride and a couple successfully launched children; very proud. Small business owner with interest in cattle industry.
I confess I hate being barraged by emails and I rarely read those emails from people who always send articles and that type of thing but for some reason I read one today and I thought it really interesting so I’m going to paste it here. You may have seen it before, but I haven’t.
Conundrum
Free people are not equal. Equal people are not free. (Think this one over and over…makes sense!)
"A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."
The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.
Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America :
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century. Makes you wonder who is doing the math.

NYC: The DSA and the Teamsters have joined forces to kill small businesses in New York City. They want to turn business owners into wage slaves that the union can control. https://t.co/yvxSvIGHzQ
🚨 THEY LOCKED THE PHONES AWAY… AND HISTORY EXPLODED.
For 63 years this Long Island Little League team never tasted a state title.
Then the coaches did something radical.
Five hours before every single game…
They ripped the phones out of the kids’ hands.
Dumped them in a bucket.
And threw away the distractions.
What happened next is pure fire:
The kids started talking to each other again.
They locked in.
They focused like their lives depended on it.
And they went on the greatest run in the program’s entire existence.
First New York State championship. Ever.
Regional play. ESPN cameras. History rewritten.
The assistant coach said it best:
“When the apps disappear… the real kids show up.”
The players? They love it.
They call the phone bucket their good-luck charm.
Structure works.
Discipline works.
Focus works.
Phones don’t.
This isn’t just a baseball story.
It’s a wake-up call for every parent, every coach, every school in America.
Are we raising champions…
or scrolling zombies?
Drop the phones.
Raise the standards.
Watch what happens.
Data centers have lobbyists and cows do not. In Congress they tried to pass a bill to exempt data centers from environmental lawsuits, so more data centers could be built in pastures. I stopped them (for now) by blowing the whistle.
1979: fasting glucose over 140 makes you diabetic.
1997: lowered to 126.
Millions of new diabetics. Same blood.
1997: prediabetes starts at 110.
2003: lowered to 100.
A third of American adults, created by a footnote.
1984: high blood pressure is 160/95.
2017: lowered to 130/80.
American hypertension goes from 32 per cent of adults to 46. Thirty-one million new patients in a morning.
2001: the cholesterol target is 130.
2004: lowered to 100, and to 70 for the high risk.
Statin eligibility expands by millions.
Eight of the nine men who wrote that 2004 update were on the payroll of companies selling statins. They disclosed it only when forced.
1994: a WHO panel invents osteopenia. Bone that is not thin enough to break, given a name and a prescription. Half of older women qualify.
Nobody got sicker on any of those dates. A committee sat down and a number moved.
The threshold drops, the market widens, and the drug is already licensed and sitting in the warehouse.
Your grandfather was healthy at 145/92. You are ill at 132/81.
Nothing about the body has changed. Only the paperwork, and who profits from it.
One of the greatest lessons I ever learned had nothing to do with running the football.
One day in practice, a coach looked at me standing on the other side of the field and asked, "What are you doing over there?"
My answer?
"Nothing."
He looked at me and said, "Then go help your teammate."
He challenged me to become uncommon.
He reminded me that you never know what's going to happen on the field. A teammate may go down. Someone may need help. If you only know one job, you're limiting your value.
From that day on, I expanded my role. I attacked my weaknesses, learned every position I could, and became the player the team could count on in any situation.
That's what made me a starter.
I've carried that lesson with me ever since.
Don't just do what's required. Look for ways to add value. Learn a new skill. Help someone else. Prepare for opportunities before they arrive.
The people who become uncommon aren't waiting to be needed—they're already getting ready.
Find A Way.
HISTORY LESSON ON YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD:
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn’t know this. It’s easy to check out, if you don’t believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what’s what and it doesn’t matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are FACTS.
Up until the 1980's, Social Security cards expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes.
Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the "NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" message was removed.
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. His promises are in black, with updates in brackets.
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary [No longer voluntary],
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program [Now 7.65% on the first $90,000, and 15% on the first $90,000 if you’re self-employed],
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year [No longer tax deductible],
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program [Under Johnson the money was moved to the General Fund and spent], and
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income [Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed].
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month — and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put away’ — you may be interested in the following:
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the ‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
AND MY FAVORITE:
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That’s right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!
Now, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it! If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, though. Some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn’t so — but it’s worth a try.
How many people can YOU send this to?
Twenty years ago, a blood pressure of 150 over 90 got you told to exercise more and cut the salt.
Then the line dropped to 140. Then 130. Now it sits around 120.
Nothing changed about the human body. Only the number changed.
"You would not believe how often they move the goalposts."
That's Alan Cassels, a health policy researcher who has spent decades tracking how disease definitions get written and who writes them.
"When you lower the level at which you start treating someone, or telling someone that they're ill or potentially ill from high blood pressure, you expand the massive pool of people that become patients."
And the line only ever moves one way. They never redraw a definition in a way that shrinks the pool.
Cholesterol is the cleanest example.
"Just by lowering the level at which we would consider high cholesterol to be a condition, overnight, they would expand the number of Americans who would be treated for cholesterol lowering drugs by 25 million people."
Cassels says the Canadian diabetes guidelines carry conflict-of-interest disclosures that run 15 or 20 pages.
"The pharmaceutical companies are very good at putting their own people on guideline committees."
You are not diagnosing more disease. You are manufacturing more patients.
American cardiology quietly rewrote its rules in the spring of 2026, and almost nobody noticed.
The new dyslipidemia guideline does two things. It drops the ideal LDL lower than ever. And it swaps in a risk calculator that no longer asks whether you'll have a heart attack in the next ten years. It asks whether you'll have one in the next thirty.
Think about what that unlocks. A ten-year risk keeps the drugs pointed at older people, because that's who actually gets heart attacks soon. Stretch the window to thirty years and a healthy thirty-year-old suddenly lights up as "at risk", because give anyone enough decades and the odds of anything climb. The guideline says the quiet part out loud: it wants treatment to begin at thirty, on the theory that a lifetime of lower cholesterol beats a few years of it.
A Harvard team ran the numbers on the new thresholds. At one setting, the guideline recommends statins for roughly 21 million more American adults than before. Twenty-one million fresh patients, conjured not by an epidemic but by a formula and a lowered line.
None of these people are ill. That's the elegant part. They feel completely fine, because there are no symptoms to have. They will be told, on the authority of a risk equation, that a silent number in their blood has marked them, and that the responsible thing is to take a drug every single day from now until they die, to shift a prediction about a year most of them can barely picture.
The beauty of a thirty-year risk score is that it can never be proved wrong in time for you to care. Take the pill and stay well, and the pill worked. Have a heart attack anyway, and think how much worse it would have been without it. The prediction protects itself.
There is no version of the next thirty years where you get to find out you didn't need it.
The most metabolically ill country on Earth has a control group living right inside it, and the results are deeply inconvenient.
The Amish eat butter, lard, eggs, meat, and raw milk straight from their own cows, by the bucket. They cook in animal fat. They eat the saturated fat the rest of us were told to fear for fifty years. Their obesity rate sits around 4%. The country around them is closing on 40%, four in ten adults. Ten times lower, on the diet that was supposed to be killing them.
They are not dropping from heart attacks at the rate the theory demands either. Their overall cancer rates run lower than the surrounding American population, despite skipping most of the screening that is meant to be saving everyone else.
Now, honesty, because it matters. The Amish are not low-carb. There are pies and bread and plenty of sugar on an Amish table. This is no clean carnivore case, and I will not pretend it is.
What it is, is a controlled experiment sitting in plain sight across Pennsylvania and Ohio. Same country. Same supermarkets down the road. The Amish simply opt out of two things: the ultra-processed food and the sitting still. Their men walk upward of 18,000 steps a day. They eat food their grandmothers would recognise, and they move like their lives depend on it, because for most of history they did.
The animal fat was never what made America sick. The seed oil, the sugar, the packet, and the sofa did that, and the Amish skipped all four. They ran the experiment by accident, by living in the same country as everyone else and politely declining to join in.
7 confirmed cases of screwworm. Yesterday it was 5. The day before, 3. Two states. All originating from cartel-controlled ranches south of the border.
https://t.co/abIMfCK0yJ has been tracking cartel cattle corridors for over a year. Now screwworm is in Texas. The parasite moved through the same routes the cattle did.
InSight Crime confirmed it: outbreak hotspots mirror the smuggling routes. 800,000 head a year smuggled through Mexico with falsified paperwork, no quarantine, no traceability.
CJNG doesn't just extort ranchers — they charge 5 pesos per kilo on export animals. They access live herd data through RFID tags. They run regional managers embedded in Mexico's legal export system.
Cattle bought for $650 in Central America, resold for $1,500 in Texas. A $1.2 billion shadow market.
The parasite isn't the only thing hiding in plain sight.
The "Product of USA" rule changed in January. Packers can now only use that label if the animal was born, raised, harvested, AND processed in the US. The old loophole where imported beef got stamped "Product of USA" just for being processed here? Gone.
But it's still voluntary. Packers don't have to tell you anything. They can just leave the label off. Imported beef from cartel corridors can sit in your grocery store with zero origin disclosure.
MCOOL — mandatory country of origin labeling — would fix that. Every cut, labeled. Born where. Raised where. Slaughtered where. No exceptions.
H.R. 5818 is sitting in Congress right now.
The screwworm made this urgent. The cartel corridors made it obvious.
