@SP4RR0WS Unfortunately we’ll never know how healthy he was or what could’ve happened. I guess that’s between Pwat, God and Pwat’s agent.
I think folks frustration comes from watching AG and others w/ injuries try where Pwat didn’t.
But aside from that, yes, folks should show more class
@Zigmanfreud@AdamSchefter The conclusions are potentially much darker if you read the article.
Unless there’s a typo or I’m miss reading their methodology, 878 former NFL players died from 2016-2021. They tested 235 brains, and “they found the disease in 215 of them.” Thats 91% of brains tested.
@ethanagarwal@BillSimmons@DKThomp Just fyi, the value of the Bobcats (now the Charlotte Hornets, increased 990.9% from 275 million to 3 billion in the 13 years between the sales.
So, your second point is kinda silly.
Watson (guided by his representation) chose to focus on a future check over a good shot at a ring. The check is important, no one should ever say different, but winners have priorities.
You play in when you have a chance at a ring ..and the best player in the world on your squad
Here’s Rich Paul basically admitting he advised Peyton Watson to not return in the playoffs because he was set to sign a big offer. An insight into the business side of basketball.
@Timodc@VicLombardi It should be, Tim, but Josh (and pop) have stacked up a bunch of trophies lately, so of course they dramatically underestimate precious and rare opportunity.
The players agreed to this dumb apron CBA, Owner puts business over winning, b/c of course he would, and fans lose out.
@KevinOConnor@KevinOConnor you’re suggesting an owner undermining league integrity is of lesser significance b/c another owner might be responsible for even greater impropriety.
Sure, but the NBA can’t fix lending or insurances industries, but it can address the integrity issues, but won’t
@Otheryanmurphy What’s the market rate for autographs from an active NBA player? And how many did he sign? …..No idea if he even signed one? Sure, sure, sounds totally above board to me.
@DKThomp So, the Lakers owner, who bought the team last October, will clear 2 billion in profit in 9 months of ownership?
I’m a capitalist to my core, but overpaying a couple billion like it’s nothing feels like another clear indicator the super rich have looted our precarious economy.
@LoveTheRox Nothing wrong with your reporting. They are better than the 100 loss teams of the last few years. I just think our standards have sunken, actually, been driven, so low by this organization, they try to sell us last place is somehow different than last place. It just isn’t.
