@ayanajsk And Why? We have some folks looking at a 20% property tax increase, many of us are on a fixed income. If us folks are expected to pay more it is only a small ask for the Park Board and The City to look for savings everywhere and consolidation is one.

@ayanajsk I worked for the city for 30 years, retired and took a job with the Park Board. The Park Board used my City employee ID #, my pay came from the Minneapolis Finance Department. My grandson worked for the park board this summer his pay came from the City finance also. Add HR.

@deenafaywinter Bottom line if you are the Chief of Police or Fire these hurdles are there. Jacob knows this as well as CM’s but OT is always a political game that is used especially when you pols want to deflect from other spending and waste.

@deenafaywinter There is so much more to the OT costs than PTSD leave that drive up OT costs. Add Military leave that is not reimbursed from the state or Feds, parental leave that was created by the city (mostly used by male firefighters and includes adoption at any age).

@deenafaywinter So about the disability payouts some are deserved but it is becoming common now within the ranks to set up your retirement with a payout just use some sort of injury in your career, contact Meshbasher ( sorry about the spelling) and and they will get you that 200k payout

@deenafaywinter Also the state sick leave mandate that Firefighters also pay into even though there is sick leave already provided so some are using both. So the reasoning is if I have to pay into that I will use it. Also if you look closely much of the leaves are abused and double dipped.
