@jessnirvanapoet ‘s debut, EARTHLY GODS, bursts with poems that explore/enact the complexities of family, identity, culture, age, caretaking, rage, and the divine, always doing so in open-hearted and elegant ways. Layered and thoughtful and powerful and moving! @GameOverBooks
This Kelly story on Trump wanting to be Hitler is as close to an October surprise as you can get. Trump's own former top aide issuing a dire warning. Never seen anything like it.
let's see if I can help:
Not news: Democrats worried
News: On the record former chief of staff attests Trump is a fascist
Not news: 1 pt change in polls all within the margin of error
News: Trump cancelling appearances, uptick in bizarre behavior
Not news: Some Black men may not vote for Harris
News: Trump has no ground game
Not news is speculation, self-evident, cliche-driven
News is critical, provable information

Not voting for either doesn’t change the fact that one of the two will be president next year. It’s crazy to think that not voting gives you clean hands or avoids the fact that one of the two people still ends up president. And yeah I think Trump is an existential threat. You don’t. 🤷🏽♂️
This year, I’m making it a point to go for a walk with my dog through the local graveyard everyday. I’d forgotten how much good it does me, how it helps me feel what’s invisible.

My general rule for estimating how long a project or an experiment will take to complete in science is to estimate, then double the estimate, then say to myself “really? it can’t possibly take that long!”, and then double the estimate again.
