Remembering how I felt 24 years ago today, combined with the assassination of one of America’s most prominent voices for Christianity yesterday, I’m profoundly reminded that believers uniting in prayer is America’s only hope.

There are at least 80 full-length biographies of DL Moody. One of them was written by his son Paul, titled, “My Father.” Here is a brief summary:

@michaeljknowles “Return”? America’s heritage is in no way rooted in Roman Catholicism. And Baptists were not part of the Protestant Reformation—they were never part of Constantine’s 4th century organization. Baptists have always existed APART FROM Rome. “Return?”
@flamingginge@JCRyle If you’re drowning and refuse to be rescued, that’s foolish, but not as foolish as condemning yourself to eternity in hell and refusing the only Saviour. God will not save you against your will. John 3:18 “He that believeth not is condemned already.”
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe,
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

@jwarnerwallace The author failed to address Jesus’ commission to EVERY believer to take the Gospel to EVERY person. Matt 28:18-20, Acts 1:8. It’s about seeing to it that EVERYONE HEARS the message. Door-to-door is not the only way to OBEY this, but it is an effective way.

“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)
Winning an election will not save America.
An increase in righteousness is the only thing that can save America.
Sin is our national plague. It is our national curse and our worst disease. Our sin is shameful and offensive to the God of Heaven who has blessed us.
Americans must turn from sin and turn to Christ.
Repentance is the only hope for our nation.
Righteousness, “exalteth a nation.” Righteousness gives victory to a nation. Righteousness lifts up a nation. Righteousness brings the blessing of God to a nation.
Individually, we can only be made righteous by trusting in Christ as our Lord and Savior.
We can never be made righteous by our own good works or by our religion.
We are made righteous by the Blood of Christ when we trust Him for salvation.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
To be made righteous, Repent-Believe-Call-Receive.
After salvation, as Christians, we are to live righteous lives through the power of Christ and for the glory of Christ.
Christians must repent of worldliness and carnality and instead live holy, righteously, and godly.
Since, “righteousness exalteth a nation,” let’s work to get more people saved through the power of the Gospel. This increases righteousness in America.
If we are saved, let’s live righteously. Live Biblically. Live sanctified. Be the light. Be the salt. Make a difference.
If America is to increase in righteousness and be saved, we must labor to see more Americans get saved through the power of the Gospel.
If America is to increase in righteousness and be saved, saved Americans must live righteously.
Sadly, at this point, we are under the judgment of God in America because of our sin and our pride.
However, there is hope because there is God.
Pray to God. Repent. Ask God to have mercy on us.
Pray and ask God to help us as a people to humble ourselves before Him.
May God help America. May God save America.
May God bless America.
@ksorbs Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.”
They’re in denial—every human knows God is real.
Calling out a brother or sister in Christ on social media rejects Jesus’ instructions in Matthew 18:15-17, ignores Jesus’ new commandment in John 13:34-35, and violates the reason for why we are instructed not to take a brother or sister to court in 1 Corinthians 6:1-8.
Yes, we’ve lost the integrity of our courts: the verdict was decided before the “trial” began. They know it, we know it.
But long before this, we as a people left righteousness, & we’ve never mourned it. That’s the root problem.
