To cut, or not to cut - that is the question
Whether tis nobler to leave the wildflowers standing
The blooms and buzzing fortunes of wild things,
Or take the rusty pruners against a sea of stalks
And by selecting, bring them to the table.
To snip, to vase -, to admire-
For who would bear the guilt of empty stems,
The disappointed bee, the barren seedhead,
When conscience makes conservationists of us all?
