Let's prevent government- sponsored legalized assisted suicide, which is aimed at disabled people under the false belief that "disability is worse than death." @NotDeadYetUSA
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.
I've been there and got that tshirt. If you're thinking of getting one, talk to a pal, a stranger or a family member first, and remember that after every storm and dark clouds come sunny days like today.
Talk. Your life is precious.
Meet John B. Kelly of Not Dead Yet. He is an incredible advocate for people with disabilities and works diligently to ensure protections for those at risk of being steered toward assisted suicide.

Proponents have adopted an "incremental steps" approach to passing & modifying assisted suicide laws. Last year's "strict safeguards" becomes this year's "barriers to access," while eligibility expands and the meaning of "terminal" starts including non-terminal disabled people.
Having fentanyl during my 4 weeks in the ICU was amazing. It gave me a lot of relief but people just love to demonize opioids.
Spoke to my PCP about pain management today and she was very reluctant to prescribe opioids for me despite its effectiveness. SIGH
Encourage doctors you know to watch this talk for physicians & bioethicists on how #MAID medical assistance in dying has seriously run amok in Canada, far beyond what the public expects. Needed safeguards are missing https://t.co/oQ0PVHBzbT #CanPoli
Inexcusable! An increasing number of people with disabilities are considering medical assistance in dying due to poverty. #MAID is supposed to be for incurable horrible pain, not Government failing to fix the social safety net #accessibility#AODA#onpoli
"What have we actually done to change our lived experience, our real-life lives when it comes to respect and inclusion for people with disabilities," asks Laura Flanders in this week's episode. Learn more about #accessibility vs. #inclusion here: https://t.co/DumDAuYJg0
There are deadly heat waves in many US cities, and disabled people are especially vulnerable. Disability justice activist @adaptanita discusses disabled people's struggles during disasters and her work to recruit CERTs (Community Emergency Response Teams): https://t.co/DumDAuYJg0
