We send our heartfelt congratulations and greetings in solidarity to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) on its historic victory.
In April and May of this year, the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) and DSA met twice, in New York and Chicago, and reaffirmed our commitment to working together in solidarity. I was deeply moved by DSA’s efforts to address the urgent needs of people across the United States and to build international solidarity for peace, as well as by its program’s call to end the U.S. war machine.
By openly championing socialism, DSA helped elect what will be the largest bloc of socialist lawmakers in U.S. congressional history. This achievement is a tremendous source of encouragement to all those around the world working for peace, progress, and socialism.
We, too, are determined to make great strides. Let us strengthen our friendship and deepen our solidarity across the Pacific!
The “Blacklash” we say across America was initiate by @JeffLandry.
He intentionally drew a congressional map to wipe out the VRA and now has ushered in a new Democratic majority across the country.
Lil Jeff, you’re next! #lalege#lagov
Theres only two types of people who get excited about John Bel edwards.
Low propensity white voters in southern Louisiana
White moderates from coastal blue states who if they've been to Louisiana they went to New Orleans for Mardis Gras
@Okonkwo_Sports Because no one in north lousiana cares about John Bel, ive lived here 20 plus years and have never met an enthusiastic John Bel supporter.
Davis just swung 18-29 and Non college education by double digits.
Hes the obvious choice by a mile
@hhamud_ Also to be fair to troy whos pictured, troy is a based union soldier, who stood up to corporate tyranny and has a really great record legislation wise of 20 plus years fighting for union rights
Wow. A strong labor crowd breaks out into “Solidarity Forever” in the middle of Troy Jackson’s acceptance speech after winning the Senate race in Maine.
@hhamud_ plus just by numbers they hold the nuclear option of impeachment which limits Trumps willingness and ability to ram through EO's, and can take back the control of the purse which republicans surrendered, that alone probally secures a bigger blue wave in 2028 than this one
@hhamud_ Eh dems honestly probally don't have to do anything but obstruct to be in good shape tbh. I think its pretty clear anything they do pass won't make it to law and anything they do manage to pass if even remotely good would be a massive blow to republicans.
@IvyAstrix@_johnsonator Nah if dems wanna do anything they gotta get rid of the stink, Dem approval rating is still bad, exit polling of dem voters had AoC at above 43% in every poll i saw(including flordia) i think Hakeem hangs on but schumer gets absolutely scrubbed
