I'm a keen observer of human behavior other than my own. Proud to resist tyranny, intolerance and unkindness in all its forms. Also a proud smart aleck. ๐๐
While everyone here is busy with Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" (2026), I wasn't lucky enough to get an IMAX ticket. So, I had to be content with myself by watching this masterpiece of bad movies - "Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity" (1987) from the comforts of my home. This is one of the best bad scenes you would ever come across. In this scene, the woman is trying to sโฌducโฌ & distract a Robot to save her friends. Enjoy the scene and make sure to watch the full movie right after. I had a wonderful time, I hope you do too.
And the fact that he still makes time to crash Jimmy Kimmel's show as part of their never-ending "feud" to promote The Odyssey just makes him even more lovable. God, I love this guy so much. It's even funnier when you remember how it all started. Kimmel's "Apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time" was originally just a throwaway joke at the end of an episode. Damon saw it, loved it, encouraged Kimmel and the producers to keep it going, and it ended up becoming what might be the longest-running comedy bit in Hollywood.
I never, EVER want this running gag to end until Kimmel retires ๐
Oddball in Kelly's Heroes was originally written as a straight-laced officer, but Donald Sutherland (born today in 1935) reinvented him as a beatnik, dropping 1960s counterculture into a 1940s war movie, and he steals the whole thing.
Just donโt hit him with negative waves, man.
@AlejandroCence2 Why did he work in that he has a four car garage "and it's important that we have an RV Bay as well"?
It really makes me not want to hang out with him.
@steph25950@TheCinesthetic Was just talking about how that implied menace--the very real fact that he could beat up anyone else on the show--added to how this show hit.
@TheodorKavaratz@Eleven__11XI The modern take on Romeo and Juliet was called West Side Story. The "actual facts" are that it won a best picture Oscar and was hugely successful financially.
Romeo+Juliet was incredibly successful, both fiancially and in making 90s kids get interested in Shakespeare.
@davidsirota You people who are getting mad at the "journalist kissing up to politician" angle appear to completly overlook the journalist's, "Hey, read my cute story about how I befriended Lindsey Graham after a racial massacre" angle.
@NikkiMcR But it's a meet cute story at a massacre. That really seems the most awful part of all this. No? To her it wasn't a mass murder, but an "opportunity"!
@AshleyRParker Her words: "I was covering Congress (Best! Beat! Ever!) for the NYT when the Mother Emanuel shooting happened in Charleston. It was summer, but I was wearing pants and a sweater that day because it was always SO freezing in the Capitol. Anyhow, news "
@AshleyRParker This is like taking a smiling selfie at the World Trade Center Memorial. What's with the cute tone? There was a horrible mass shooting. No?
