Black people are not a political hive mind, and Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Assata Shakur, James Baldwin and Angela Davis do not collectively own the political opinions of every Black person alive today.

Yes, Muhammad Ali publicly supported the Palestinian cause, and Malcolm X was sharply anti-Zionist. Those are their documented political positions, not commandments inherited by everyone who shares their race.

The irony is extraordinary: you are invoking Black liberation figures while telling a Black man that disagreement makes him a “good slave” and questioning whether he should “feel European” or “Western.”

Reducing someone’s political legitimacy to whether his opinions conform to what you think Black people are supposed to believe is racial essentialism, not liberation.
