With the Summer Update getting closer, I’ve been spending more time in the marketplace than grinding lately 👀
Not because I'm trying to predict prices...
I'm just trying to finish my gear setup before the rush starts
Right now my main focus is:
1. Boss Accessory Set
The most efficient equipment sets for the early and mid-game stages. It's relatively easy to obtain, reasonably priced, and provides a significant amount of stats, making it an excellent choice for character progression
• Condensed Power Crystal
• Aquatic Letter Eye Accessory
• Dea Sidus Earrings
• Silver Blossom Ring
• Crystal Ventus Badge
• Pink Holy Cup
• Golden Clover Belt
• Mechanator Pendant
• Chaos Horntail Pendant
• Papulatus Mark (a late-game replacement for the Eye Accessory slot)
🎯 Why is this set important?
• Easy to complete and activate the set effects.
• Can be Star Forced and Cubed for a significant power boost.
• Serves as the perfect stepping stone before upgrading to end-game equipment
• Extremely cost-effective for new players and returning players alike.
2. Pitched Boss Set
The Pitched Boss Set is a high-end boss equipment set in MapleStory, widely regarded as the next progression step after the Boss Accessory Set for players aiming to challenge end-game bosses such as Lucid, Will, and beyond
As announced on @MaplestoryU, we've spotted a new piece of equipment: Cursed Spellbook, since it belongs to the Pitched Boss Set, this means we'll finally be able to activate the 4-piece set effect
• Berserked
• Magic Eyepatch
• Cursed Spellbook
• Dreamy Belt
🎯 Why is the Pitched Boss Set so important?
• Significantly higher base stats compared to the Boss Accessory Set.
• Can be enhanced to very high Star Force levels.
• Considered BiS (Best-in-Slot) gear for many equipment slots.
• Extremely low drop rates make these items highly valuable on the marketplace.
( Note: These are extremely rare and valuable items. I don't necessarily recommend that everyone pursue them, as they're primarily intended for hardcore players who want to maximize their character's potential for challenging and soloing end-game bosses )
3. CRA/Absolab Mix Set or CRA/ Arcane Umbra
CRA/Absolab Mix Set is the most common gearing setup for players preparing to take on higher bosses
📌 Common Setup:
CRA 3-Set
• Hat
• Top
• Bottom
Absolab 5-Set
• Weapon
• Shoulder
• Gloves
• Shoes
• Cape
🎯 Why is this setup so popular?
• The CRA Hat, Top, and Bottom provide powerful set effects.
• Top + Bottom offer better overall stats than a single Overall of the same tier.
• The Absolab Weapon provides a massive amount of ATT/M.ATT.
• The Absolab 5-Set Effect grants additional ATT, Boss Damage, and other valuable stats.
CRA/ Arcane Umbra
This is the setup that many players aim for before they begin collecting Pitched Boss equipment.
CRA 3-Set
• Hat
• Top
• Bottom
Arcane Umbra 5-Set
• Weapon
• Shoulder
• Gloves
• Shoes
• Cape
🎯 Why do players keep the CRA Hat instead of switching to an Arcane Umbra Hat?
• The CRA 3-Set Effect grants an additional 50 ATT/M.ATT, making it extremely valuable.
• The CRA Top + Bottom combination often provides better overall value than an Arcane Umbra Overall throughout many stages of progression.
• This setup allows players to benefit from both the powerful Arcane Umbra 5-Set Effect and the highly efficient CRA 3-Set Effect at the same time.
( Note: As I mentioned earlier, the Arcane Umbra setup is primarily aimed at hardcore players. For most players, including myself, Absolab remains a long-term and highly cost-effective option )
4. Nodes (V3/V4, 5th Job Skills)
Currently, all that has been publicly revealed are the teaser images and promotional posters, which show the appearance of V3/V4 Skills as part of the Summer Roadmap. However, the specific skill details have not yet been officially announced.
🎯 For players preparing for the Summer Update, this means:
• Node Slots will become more important than ever.
• EXP Nodes from the Anniversary Event are extremely valuable, as they can be used to level up V Skills or Boost Nodes.
• This is a great time to finish your core trio nodes instead of spreading your resources across multiple skills.
• If V3/V4 Skills are introduced, the additional damage they provide could make many of the current bosses much more accessible.
🗒️ These are the four key points that I personally believe players should focus on to better prepare and develop their characters. If there's anything else you think should be added, feel free to let me know! 😊
