@brendan_okeeffe I remember that game, and that season pretty vividly. Which Evertonian wouldn’t? My first game was August 1970, first game of the following season, with my dad to see a 2-2 draw with Arsenal (eventual double winners).
I can see parallels in Ancelotti’s potential appointment as manager to the signing of Samuel Eto’o. Previous greats, signed to sprinkle a little stardust, but on the downslope of their career and lacking the necessary hunger and energy. Happy to be proved wrong.
Eye test. Prescription changed. Please Mr Specsavers why is it more expensive to get the lenses changed in my current frames (from Specsavers) than to buy brand new frames and lenses? #bonkers
@alicedonald What a beautiful and moving story Alice. As you write, a counterpoint to the otherwise horrible times we are living through. Happy Christmas.
I know the Iraq War was a disaster; I know he had terrible judgment over Carole Caplin and accepting questionable hospitality; but by God, Labour could do with him now. BBC News - General election 2019: Blair attacks Corbyn's 'comic indecision' on Brexit https://t.co/qKeVVC4YUa
It’s a close call, but I think I’m even less impressed with the reaction of the Labour Party to its catastrophic defeat last Thursday than I am with the total absence of credibility and leadership that caused it. #shambles
@brendan_okeeffe Peter pedant points out two Labour (Brown also, though not elected). But I have no argument with the basic point that the left disappear up their own arses arguing about angels on a pinhead while losing sight of what and who might actually be popular AND electable.
Read this by Goebbels. Brexit propaganda follows his script to the letter. It is a fascist propaganda of emotive slogans and lies that obliterates reasons, facts, questions and arguments. It is the propaganda style of a totalitarian dictatorship.
@andrewdisley Really interesting Andrew. I’ve gone vegetarian for the last 18 months with a vegan tendency. Sadly not had the same effect on my weight. Listened to this today about sleeping (mine is rubbish). Hope it’s interesting. https://t.co/ZSXUM1Zpig
When a Conservative Prime Minister who feels he’s born to rule is outclassed and put in his place by the quiet, understated decency of a woman who cares about other people and hates the injustice in our society.
Every person in our country should watch this video.
Totally agree. But we get the leaders we deserve. Opposing him with someone who hasn’t a clue about leadership means he is going to win. Do you really think Cooper, Burnham or Milliband would not be making mincemeat of him?? It’s a tragedy.
@ThePaulWilcox I’m really fed up. He’s had what Moyes never did - backing in the transfer market - and he hasn’t got a clue how to build a team. I foresee very few points next month with our fixtures and another long, depressing winter.
